On trade mission to China, U.S. governors say please

Are they traitors, or trying to keep their economies afloat? What about the Buy American pundits? Or what about that China's economy is going to implode any day now, predicted ever since they started to become a player?  (Oct 19, 2011 | post #1)

More Americans Can't Put Food On the Table Than China

Over the last ten years there must have been at least a hundred articles, some of them from learned economists who have predicted the demise of the Chinese economy, yet it keeps on ticking. I think the two biggest things they do wrong is one, they do not understand how tradition, culture, government and their history works towards economic growth, and two, their 1.3 billion consumers. We have continually underestimated the Chinese in almost every conceivable way. A tid bit for people to consider, they know how our economy works, have a good handle on how we think, they know our history, our movers and shakers in politics and business, our failures and successes. What do we know of China? Not much. Consider this, 30 years ago China was a totalitarian government with a joke of an economic system. In those three decades they have given their people more freedom than anytime in their history, more say in their own self determination, all while elevating hundreds of millions of their people from poor to middle class, producing a new millionaire on an hourly bases and a few new billionaires weekly and are now slated to surpass the USA in ten to fifteen years. Yet 99.9% of us have no idea how they got there, and most of us have no clue that even happened in the last three decades. China is beating us at our own game. It is time we learn how to beat them at theirs as well, instead of pushing our military might around to achieve it, or creating an unwindable trade war, or other such fast fixes that will have devastating results. Our biggest problems are several fold, we do not learn very well from our mistakes, we have a slower then molasses in January government system, we have no vision of the future let alone any plans, we thrive on instant fixes and have no patience for things to work, we point fingers and blame each other, and finally, we have a can't do attitude. I would not wish our government system on any country, friend or foe, and I am starting to feel that way about our economic system.  (Oct 18, 2011 | post #72)

I never said anything of the kind you stupid ingrained propagandist. I did say that we best learn how China is doing it and learn by them. I told you I'd dog you and if you continue to twist my words, I'll call you out on it.  (Oct 18, 2011 | post #71)

My god you are an idiot - what kind of convoluted crap is that? Don't bother answering, I don't pay attention to you anyway, nor will I respond, but I will take great pride and justice in dogging you.  (Oct 18, 2011 | post #66)

One of the things I hate about you is you call people names based on their age. No one in China would be caught dead with that kind of disrespect. No one, which makes you, what? I am done with you, I refuse to pay attention to a simple minded propagandist, like you, who couldn't find a fact if it was your assss.  (Oct 17, 2011 | post #55)
