Today in Asheville

And the late Russ Offhaus (WSKY's Farmer Russ) stole the scene from Mitchum as the obnoxious drunk in the scene filmed (if I'm not mistaken) in the old Sky Club on Beaucatcher Mountain. (Mitchum was not happy with being upstaged!)  (4 hrs ago | post #2)

Real Families Picnic fetes inclusion for gay people

PFLAG is hardly afraid of anybody. The work they do is amazing, and they are to be commended. I didn't get to the picnic yesterday (I attended the BBQ for Loving Food Resources) but I thank them for holding the event and urge them to keep up the good work!  (4 hrs ago | post #7)

Better that than a pathetic coward with a fetish for comic book porn. You've left more tracks than you realize.  (15 hrs ago | post #366)

How Do You Feel About The Forum Regulars?

You ain't Larry. You're a childish little twit with delusions of intellect. And you're not even funny, just pathetic.  (17 hrs ago | post #344)

CFL doesn't mean 'choices for lighting'

I don't know Jeff...I think the genuinely self-determined wouldn't waste time complaining, but would figure out how to make incandescant bulbs more energy efficient than the CFL's or maybe even come up with something brand new to replace them.  (Yesterday | post #25)

Lawmakers getting bullied themselves on anti-bullying bill

As long as certain groups are singled out, protections will be necessary. As for kicking those aggressors out, as long as their parents and churches claim their abuse towards certain groups is actually an expression of their religious beliefs and freedom of speech, it isn't going to happen.  (Yesterday | post #27)

Lawmakers getting bullied themselves on anti-bullying bill

So long as anything that might protect gay kids (or those who are perceived to be gay) is considered part of an "agenda" , there will be no equal protection.  (Friday | post #24)

Lawmakers getting bullied themselves on anti-bullying bill

So, what you're saying is it's ok to bully gay kids...or even kids that are perceived to be gay. Why am I not surprised...  (Friday | post #23)

Protections for sexuality doom bullying bill

If the law were applied fairly and equally across the board, catagories would not be needed. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened that way so far.  (Friday | post #18)

Protections for sexuality doom bullying bill

Problem is, the religious right is ONLY interested in the "sexual orientation and gender identity" portions of the bill, NOT any of the others.  (Thursday | post #10)

Annual Exodus meeting begins

Alekas, if you don't believe that speech can harm, go check out the words of the folks that influenced Eric Rudolph and Timothy McVeigh, and encouraged them to kill. Hitler never pulled a trigger, but look at how many deaths his words caused.  (Wednesday Jul 16 | post #75)

Many want to forget Rudolph saga, but some can't

Misguided? Rudolph knew exactly what he was doing, encouraged by those who taught and supported him, people like Nord Davis and the Army of God. He's a psychopath. And if earthtrekker supports him or his actions, for whatever reason, well...  (Tuesday Jul 15 | post #22)
