4 Levittown brothers accused in $70-million coin scam

In our society robbing cash is practically the "American Way" Robbing people of their nest eggs and life's savings should be punished as severely as murder. Wall Street does this every 10 to 12 years, and of course we have operations like those mentioned in this article. Hang them all.  (Nov 25, 2008 | post #20)

City man: JetBlue made me sit on toilet during flight

BTW- restitution?? Maybe a couple of free tickets and a written apology. There should absolutely be no other monetary compensation.  (May 12, 2008 | post #20)

City man: JetBlue made me sit on toilet during flight

It seems to me that the entire crew on that flight are as racist as most of you responders. The flight attendant should have stayed in the jump seat. A civilian passenger that is permitted on a flight must be provide a seat whether they pay or not. I had been a pass rider on many flights. If a seat is not available to you, you are not permitted to board the flight. Another example of a human being treated like trash, by other trashy humans. What a beautiful world!  (May 12, 2008 | post #19)

School official retires one day, is rehired the next

I do not recall ever seeing administrators/sup erintendants salaries and benefits packages itemized or quantified when school budgets are up for a vote. Its only about text books, after school programs and transportation. So much for education being about our children. These sweet deals legal. They should not be.  (May 11, 2008 | post #190)

Long Island boaters ready to help terrorism fight

HI ITN- I think you misconstrued my sarcasm (the problem with writing poorly- you do not hear my tone) I think we are on the same page on this issue. It is very wrong that we avenged the deaths of almost 4000 people here by losing over 4000 of our bravest military and wasting billions of our tax dollars.  (Apr 29, 2008 | post #20)

Long Island boaters ready to help terrorism fight

Hey TF- bravo. How did we become so afraid of some camel merchants with fertilizer? They robbed our planes and destroyed the towers (Don't get on my case, I lost friends and was close enough to see the smoke). How were they able to steal the planes. Terrorists have no means or assets and they are ridiculously vastly outnumbered on this planet.  (Apr 28, 2008 | post #17)

Miley Cyrus photos may tarnish squeaky-clean image

Funny- girls and women strut around or pose naked and make boatloads of money. Who is doing the buying? If men/boys weren't dropping cash down the girls G strings there wouldn't be a market for it! And , don't tell me its trashy uneducated men that are the clientele. If sexuality and sex weren't so taboo in the US, none of this would have any significance. Sex sells, and that is okay, but the sad thing about our country is that is the only thing that sells. Oh wait, I forgot violence. This story, who cares? big deal, oh my, blind me I saw some human flesh.  (Apr 28, 2008 | post #59)

Gas price still rising, but a glimmer of good news

Why is the dollar falling OEJ? Maybe because the only thing America produces is debt to the midde and working class. No, its not all Bushes fault, but the power elite are selling us all out. Guess what, if you are a mid level Wall Streeter, you days are numbered too.  (Apr 23, 2008 | post #18)

Gas price still rising, but a glimmer of good news

Can someone please explain to me how market speculation causes an increase in prices at the pump. I thought market speculation was just that, speculation. If someone buys oil at 130.00 they are not guaranteed a profit....right? Now there is a fictional supply issue with rice causing the price to jump 140%. **** !!  (Apr 23, 2008 | post #17)

Court asked to block calorie postings

Posting caloric content will not prevent anything. Maybe the real reason for the the postings is use as a disclaimer to help in defense of lawsuits as in the "I eat Burger King every day and now I am fat and now I am going to sue" Stupid people are stupid. We should all be accountable for our own actions. Fast food is fattening, cigarette smoking causes heart disease and lung cancer, hot coffee is hot. But, in fairness, all restaurants and food service establishments should be required to post calories if chains and fast food restaurant are required to do so. Or maybe just major tort reform is the answer. Through out all stupid lawsuits, or make the loser pay all expenses. Out of court settlements should all be for one dollar "on principle only. Whoa- pardon my A D D moment! Its time for a Big Mac and a diet coke!  (Apr 22, 2008 | post #2)

Judge tosses case against men who wheeled cadaver around

This is a sad story really. When you think about the lives these men lead. But, I did chuckle to myself thinking about the "Weekend at Bernie's" parallel.  (Apr 22, 2008 | post #4)

People want Bill Maher fired, again

Great stuff. Just think of how politicians (mostly republicans) speak of the founding our "christian nation" perhaps putting a spin on "faith based", but faith, not in some imaginary super being, but faith in each of us to strive, think, work and grow together to build a free nation. What happened?? I guess no one remembers or brings up the fact that "In God We Trust" and "...one nation under God..etc" where added to our currency and the Pledge of Allegiance respectively in or around the McCarthy era. There are many who do not see that from the outside looking in, we appear to be another fundamentalist religious state. The downfall of the great American Empire??!! Let's hope we can turn it around. Back to Bill- he is anti all religion, not necessarily faith. He only speaks of issues that entice his target demographic. He has the right to do that. I find him to be entertaining and thought provoking. I also find Ann Coulter to be entertaining and thought provoking. They both focus on politics and current events. They both make a living as entertainers, riling-up those who oppose to their viewpoints. On one hand good for them (they do not have to work real jobs), on the other hand its really inconsequential. United we stand, divided we fall. I guess we forgot why we are supposed to be united in the first place.  (Apr 21, 2008 | post #549)

Praying passenger is removed from plane at NY airport

Why do the "religious " not respect the rights of others? How many people have been killed on this planet in the name of "god". Oy vey! I try to live my life as an understanding, tolerant, respectful and forgiving person. This man had no respect for the other passengers at all.....apparently no common sense either. He'll probably sue for a new Buick. Peace all  (Apr 17, 2008 | post #20)
