New Britain Middle School Incident Investigated

Do you have any statistics that are more current? This study you quoted is 11 years old.  (May 16, 2008 | post #69)

Abuse Cases To Be Mediated -- Hospitals and Clinics, St. ...

Have you read the earlier stories? People came forward and complaints were lodged, however, St. Francis didn't do anything to Dr. Reardon. People are coming forward now after being identified in his extensive child porn collection.  (Mar 25, 2008 | post #4)

Jury Selection Begins In Case Against Truck Owner In Avon...

This particular trial is in regard to the owner trying to insure the truck 20 minutes after the crash, so he is being tried for insurance fraud. While the state is also partially to blame, this guy knowingly cut corners and tried to buck the system every chance he could. It might be sad that he lost everything, but IMO, it is more sad that innocent people lost their lives due to his negligence. By the way, insurance rates are high for a reason - and people who commit or attempt to commit insurance fraud only make the costs worse for everyone else.  (Mar 4, 2008 | post #3)

Alvinos Plead Guilty, Spared Jail

Absolutely unbelievable! How the hell did they walk without any jail time? It is truly hard to have faith in our justice system after reading crap like this.  (Feb 25, 2008 | post #3)

Call About Gunman Leads To Drug Arrest

Real nice! FYI - people these days snort and eat heroin too. It's not so easy to identify those who may be using these days.  (Feb 11, 2008 | post #6)

At Hearing, Two Views Of Man In Sex Case

Well when you are reading an article about a bunch of people supporting an accused child molester, claiming the girl had a case of mistaken identity, it makes you wonder. Additionally, most articles will say something like he was the boyfriend of the girl's mother, etc. His supporters are making it sound like this girl doesn't even know him. Doesn't that pique your curiosity? I can't imagine that is really the case or why would the cops charge him. FWIW - I am not saying I don't believe the girl, just find it to be an oddly written article.  (Feb 7, 2008 | post #21)

At Hearing, Two Views Of Man In Sex Case

I feel like this article is extremely vague. Unless I am mistaken, it doesn't even say his relationship to the girl. Surely there was some sort of evidence that backed up her claim, or he wouldn't be arrested, correct? Is anyone else as confused as I am?  (Feb 7, 2008 | post #15)

Ex-UConn Player Gets Three Years

Give me a freaking break. We are talking about 15 year old girls with severe emotional problems. He was an adult in a position of power over them.  (Feb 1, 2008 | post #22)

MySpace Link Yields Arrest

Before we jump to conclusions, are we sure that her mother LET her have a myspace? Her daughter could have done it without her mother's knowledge by using a friend's computer, or one in the library or something. IF her mom did know, that is another story. IMO, no one under the age of 15/16 should be on these sites.  (Jan 30, 2008 | post #8)

Karl Rove At Choate? Maybe, Maybe Not

Right, b/c of course every kid who went to a private school is a spoiled little turd. Not every private school student is wealthy, and not every wealthy family spoils their children.  (Jan 25, 2008 | post #84)

Karl Rove At Choate? Maybe, Maybe Not

The students said they are fine with him speaking at the school at another time, just not for their graduation. I can certainly understand that. It is really pathetic how many people here have issues with the kids merely for the fact they attend private school. I'm impressed that these teenagers actually care who speaks at their graduation. When I graduated from public school, my peers were so apathetic and didn't care about who our speaker was.  (Jan 25, 2008 | post #15)

Man Charged After Accident

Have you even followed what happened with Brandy's case? The cops were able to prove that the woman Brandy hit first hit the person in front of her, which means Brandy is not at fault. Additionally, the woman had traces of pot in her system. The cops were right not to charge Brandy.  (Jan 7, 2008 | post #8)
