Gun Control - Greer, SC

I have been a responsible gun owner and concealed weapon permit carrier for over 40 years. Existing Gun laws need to be enforced. There is no need for additional ones that only penalize law abiding citizens.  (Aug 2, 2011 | post #3)

Remembering Ted Miller

I realize that all this happened a few years back, but I have just discovered all of the posts regarding Ted Miller's service record, and how so many people were glad to see him voted out. I built a camp in Island Pond back in the 80s, and my family and I thouroughly enjoyed the weekends and vacations we spent there, during the years we owned the property. I bought the 12 1/2 acres from Bernie Wilson, and promptly established relationships with local merchants and service providers. From the materials we bought at the hardware store, to the many fine meals at Jennifer's, we enjoyed the town and all the folks we encountered . . . including Ted Miller. There was an incident on e winter, when a vagrant broke into my house, and was living there. Ted always did a great job of patroling the roads, keeping an eye on things for folks like us, who weren't always there. Ted rousted the individual, and contacted me to let me know what happened, giving me the opportunity to hire a local service person to re-secure the camp. My wife and her sister often spent time there, while I stayed home in Connecticut, working. Ted made it his business to look in on them, and make sure they were O.K. I always appreciated his diligence and concern. And by the way, a year or so after I sold the property, my wife and I came up for a visit, and darn if I didn't get pulled over for speeding. I greeted Ted, reminding him where our camp had been, and he graciously suggested I slow down a bit, and wished us a nice visit. No Ticket! So, despite the experiences of others, I would like to go on record as having said that Ted was a nice fellow, who did his job, and went out of his way to look after other people's property. Thanks Ted! Jim & Pat Griffin  (Aug 2, 2011 | post #1)
