I agree with you. Most stores would not to something like this as it cuts into the "bottom line" of the store profits, but this team of managers did not care about the bottom line, only giving the man and his family some help.This is a caring business, not just about the money and because of this, the store will flourish and grow within this small community.  (Sep 15, 2009 | post #4)

Local Super Market Gives Senior Discounts

In the bad times with the economy everyone is experiencing, especially our older generation, The IGA Marketplace , located in Kimberely Alabama is giving 5% discount on their grocery bill. It does not seem like much, however, it does add up when making a "good" grocery bill. I would like to take the time and thank IGA for trying to help in these trying times. I do not know how long this will last, but they have been doing this for about 4 weeks. To receive the discount, the age has to be 60+ years. Hope to see you there.  (Mar 24, 2009 | post #1)

New Store

Kevin, if you are ever down the this way, stop by IGA Marketplace in Kimberely and visit for a while, you may like the experience, since the only thing you seem to know is "The Pig". walmart in warrior

At one time, talk of building a Walmart in Warrior was a reality. The only store that was actually built was in neighboring Kimberly in October 2008. An IGA Supermarket, complete with deli and drivethru Pharmacy. The majority of the prices are cheaper than Piggly Wiggly's. Maybe the competition will help the Pig lower their prices and make the more reasonable. If you are ver in town come by and visit the store.  (Jan 3, 2009 | post #3)
