*Henne or Quinn*

Chad Henne is not very good on a team with alot of weapons that doesn't require him to do anything. He has 9 TDs and 9 INTs and 20 sacks on a team that runs the wildcat for christ's sake. Quinn is playing better than expected recently on a team that's best weapon is a glorified punt returner. Put Quinn in Henne's situation and they have at least two more wins. Let Quinn sit one more year behind Favre and he's going to be a QB the Vikings were looking for the entire time. Imagine if Quinn had receivers that could get seperation, or had a running back that was a game changer. Childress, Stubby, Mag, this post tells you that you are right.  (Yesterday | post #19)

Jevan Snead also sucks for anyone inquiring. He would be insane to enter the draft this year, because he'd be lucky to go in the 4th round. I was high on him to begin the year, and he still has all of the measurables, but he regressed BIG time this year. 20 TDs and 17 ints as a JR college QB is pathetic, especially for one coming in with so much hype. People actually had him as a dark horse Heisman candidate before the season started. Random thought: has anyone seen Buddy Grant the poster around here?  (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #77)

Anyone who says that Tarvaris Jackson is a better QB than Jimmy Clausen or Jake Locker does not have their head screwed on tight, and that's coming from a Jackson supporter.  (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #76)

I would sell the farm to get a Jimmy Clausen or a Jake Locker, otherwise I would sit tight and draft BPA. A guy like Sean Weatherspoon out of Mizzou would be a stud in this defense. Ras-I Dowling would be an outstanding CB in our scheme, if Frazier doesn't head for greener pastures. I kind of hope he does so the Vikes can change the scheme to be more of an attacking one. Bradford at the end of round one might be ok, depending on how his shoulder checks out and how his arm strength looks. Otherwise a guy like Tim Hiller or Dan LeFevour in round 2/3 would be outstanding developmental guys to sit behind Favre. Another guy I like who might move up to the late first early second is Dan Williams NT out of TN, even though I would be fully comfortable going into next year with Fred Evans/Jimmy Kennedy as the NT. The production has been virtually the same with Pat in or out, and the run D is still #2 in the league. To be honest, the Vikings are going to be drafting BPA, or moving up to get the guy that they want that they consider to be the BPA at the slot they are moving up to. Drafting at the end of round one is much less stressful than finding an impact guy drafting early in round 1. Offseason priorities: Resign Ray Edwards, resign Chad Greenway resign Chester Taylor find a successor for Favre Everything other position is better than 90% of the other teams in the NFL.  (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #72)

**** Vikings Vs Lions Preview ****

With Sims out, and Foote and White probably out, I expect a HUGE day from the Vikings rushing attack. I wouldn't be surprised to see Peterson go over 100 in the first half. This game has the makings of a blowout, so here's a good question: Vikings spotting the Lions 17 points in this one, do you take the Lions and the points?  (Nov 14, 2009 | post #9)

Minnesota Vikings

**** Vikings Vs Packers Preview 2 ****

It'll all depend on line play. If the Packers' O line shows up and gives Rodgers time, I think the Pack has a very good chance of winning. If Jared Allen has another monster day, the Pack doesn't stand a chance. The same is true for the Vikings. They did a great job of keeping Favre out of pressure (because Capers love's utilizing Kampman incorrectly). That stupid zone pressure they use was easily idnetified and neutralized by the Vikings. Avoid the costly penalties, get to Rodgers often, protect Brett, and this game looks alot like the last one. I didn't mention AD til now because he will not be the focus of this game unfortunately. They don't seem to be set on getting him going early in games anymore. I understand saving him and keeping him in shape for the playoffs, but this is a must win game for the Vikings as far as I am concerned. He had about 20 more carries at this point last year and was in the game at crunch time. I guess the point is, Brett Favre or not, I wish Adrian was getting 2 of the 3 attempts inside the five instead of the passing game. I hope Adrian gets between 25-30 touches, and Brett does not throw the bal FIFTY TIMES like he did last game. Why is this team throwing the ball 50 times and Adrian only getting 18 carries and 4 catches? That will not win many games IMO.  (Oct 31, 2009 | post #5)

***Vikings @ Steelers Live***

So, the refs job us on that tripping call... We couldn't keep getting lucky every week. I love Loadholts hustle to try to catch up on that fumble, that means alot to a team. Sidney is emerging as a star (in his third year no less ;) ) The loss is partly on Childress. How on earth do you take Adrian out when the game is on the line? Also, Chester makes that catch 49 out of 50 times. I guess luck just caught up with us, because we outplayed the Steelers. Coincidence?: This is the first week that I've worn my Peterson jersey, the other 6 games I wore my Allen one... hmm.....  (Oct 25, 2009 | post #55)

**** Great stat tracking web site ****

I think they don't define their terms. They may be unbiased, but I really want to know what their formulas are. Pro Football Prospectus gives out formulas and calculations so you can check their stats. There's no way to measure or verify the information on the site given the. Normalization and inability to make a judgment on a play is not an excuse. Basically these guys are pro football prospectus wannabe hacks. Pro Football Prospectus details every play so you actually can check their work. I guess its alright if you can just trust their work, but I like to see the actual work that people do.  (Oct 24, 2009 | post #8)
