Christian Lies Exposed

Out of everything, this has vexed me the greatest. It makes no sense whatsoever that having humanity kill god's son, which incidentally is a violation of 10 commandments, would lead to forgiveness/salvat ion. And one would hope that if said "all-loving " god actually exists/existed would come up with a better contingency plan for dealing with those pesky nonbelievers other than the blast furnace. Then again, its probably something our carnal minds could never grasp. Go figure =p  (Jun 17, 2008 | post #43776)

Once Again The Bible Predicts The Future

Yep yep yep. Religious deception, wars, famines, yada, yada, yada have always existed. Adding another to the list isn't all that special. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do recall something about Jesus saying that this generation (1900 years ago) will not pass before the end/he rose again? That sould essentially kill this silly idea of the end of the world.  (Mar 14, 2008 | post #189)

Id be rather worried if the Jewish faith was the one and only path. Man god will be pissed at Christians for hijacking parts of the Torah, turning it into the OT, and then whacking the NT on top of it.  (Mar 13, 2008 | post #39911)

Study: 1 in 4 teen girls has sex disease Health officials...

While you are partially right, hinting that men might carry more of the blame is highly subjective. Although it may be true, women are just as likely to lie about having an STD. Hell, many women that susequently aquire a STD show next to ZERO physical symptoms. So many cases go unnoticed, compounding the issue.  (Mar 12, 2008 | post #21)

Illusion was the first thing came to mind. Believing hard enough will only make it seem to be true. Hell, when one beleives something long enough, it can appear as fact. Go figure. RAmen ;)  (Mar 11, 2008 | post #39374)

Are you a Christian?

Who says there is only worthy chair in the room? Maybe your chair is just as appealing as another or not appealing at all. Perhaps, depending on how you were raised, prefer a stool, couch, easy chair, a plain old wooden chair, etc. To an outsider, your chair may very well be uncomfortable or alien, but it is comforting to >you<. Its all subjective based how you were raised.  (Mar 5, 2008 | post #225)

Sounds a tad farfetched from my pov, but certainly answers the question. I also may have gone slightly ahead of myself, but I do recall you mentioned other "systems " previously. So even without experiencing what you have, I would agree that life would be bound to pop up elsewhere by sheer probability alone. However, I had not thought in terms of an abundance of "souls" in relation to bodies, hrhr. It is interesting food for thought to say the least. And regarding bouncing time periods, that is quite the subject to wrap a mind around. Great Scott, now I don't need a flux capacitor ;)  (Mar 5, 2008 | post #37822)

Ottawa scientists embark on hunt for 'salt gene'

Eventually, I'm sure, but I can't say I've heard of any recent break throughs; progress tends to be slow. Most studies will go onto limited clinical trials if a meaningful way to impliment the treatment is found. Could be hype though. I'm reminded of stem cell research. The prospects could be enourmous for tissue healing, but there is still a very low percentage of cells that stay where you want them to be and differentiate properly. In "some" cases stem cells that wander off could devide uncontrollably and form tumors.  (Mar 4, 2008 | post #9)

Is this the real Death Star?

Exactly. Society has predicted the end of the world countless times throughout recorded history. Every time, the deadline gets pushed farther back when it goes unfulfilled. What as surprise... It always boggled my mind why people are so preoccupied with the death of everyone and everything.  (Mar 4, 2008 | post #76)

I've seen many posts on your beliefs before, but I was cusrious: With the model you provided, is it possible for new souls to be created or is there more of a fixed number? Mostly curious how population growth could be reconciled or if there was some sort of queue to get "into" the earth system. I'm interested because as time progresses, one would imagine fewer and fewer people in the earlier stages (1-2) you mentioned. There always seems to (have been/currently are) be a rather large percentage of any population that would fit the bill.  (Mar 4, 2008 | post #37554)

I love reading about the historical aspects of religion. Nothing like investigating how your beleifs came to be. The "those who who forget the past are dooemd to repeate it," sort of stuff. It certainly has left me shocked thus far. I'm going to have to check that book out as well when I've finished with my current pile! Good stuff at first glance.  (Mar 3, 2008 | post #37388)
