Take a stand against Lyda Ann

she may know things you don't like there are still bodies being recovered, the potential for illness and additional death is likely, and they are just too overwhelmed to add layers of people into the mix at the moment. I would want to go home too but you will at some point and it will be devastating enough. she is a smart woman and a good woman. i would leave her to her monumental task. by the way, we are still missing two grandchildren and a son in law so we'd like to go in there too but we trust the mayor.  (Sep 17, 2008 | post #2)

Damage/flooding update?

Stephen and everyone else who helped us look for our daughter Camilla Fitzgerald, I am more than happy and grateful to report SHE CALLED US TONIGHT AND SHE IS OK. They survived in the warehouse and then left to help friends and probably pick up stray dogs and cats. The cell phone was out of minutes but she finally got to a working phone and let us know she is walive and well. Thank you again for everyone's help and support. My prayers and gratitude are with you all.  (Sep 15, 2008 | post #239)

Ike causes 'devastating' floods in southeast Texas

We now know thanks to the kindness of strangers who checked that our daugher is not trapped in the warehouse as we feared. We still don't know where she is but we are hopeful. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this blog.  (Sep 15, 2008 | post #25)

Try the North Orange Baptish Church. They have a shelter there. The Red Cross is keeping a list of all the people who have been rescued or put into shelters and then shipped out by bus to out of town shelters. The Orange County Sheriff's office is answering their phone in case you can't reach anyone else.  (Sep 15, 2008 | post #2)

Orange County judge says 12 families stranded

Through the kindness of a family I met through a blogger I now know that my daughter is not trapped in the warehouse where she was spending the storm. These very good people actually went there today to look for us and found the place empty. We still don't know where she is but we are relieved she isn't there and continue to be thankful for the good people of Bridge City and pray for them all.  (Sep 15, 2008 | post #33)

Flooding in Bridge City begins to recede

Thank you for this post. We are looking for our daughter who is unaccounted for in Bridge City. We keep getting conflicting reports however yours gave us hope. Someone on another blog said they are out of body bags etc. It is so hard to wait for news and not know what the real story is. Hearing from you directly as I did from another blogger via his parents who are there today gives us hope. Thank you again.  (Sep 15, 2008 | post #4)
