Florissant golf club managers charged with stealing

"However, to ask for full information and justice is appropriate and cannot be broadbrushed as "taking delight in others' misery." I agree with this statement. Like I said above. There HAS to be accountability. It's how you demand it that separates and puts you above the fray. The rest of that post. While historical precedent and current events are good to be aware of, you simply don't punish someone for someone else's sins. These guys didn't help AIG or Blagojavich (sp?). They should be held accountable for what they've done.  (Dec 13, 2008 | post #58)

In the spirit of Christmas and helping to make a Happy Festivus for All, I would appreciate if folks would just let this all go. Let's stick to the topic, which is to see that the City of Florissant recovers all monies and properly investigates what went wrong with oversight of the Golf Course. I'm very proud of what I've stood for in my time in Florissant. I feel that I've made choices with an open mind and I've tried to stand on the side of what I felt was right for my City and more importantly My Savior. I love to argue as much as the next guy, but this bickering isn't really helping to progress anything in our town. I hope everyone is ready for Tuesday. Remember, to check on our elderly neighbors and relatives BEFORE the storm hits to make sure they're prepared. I'll be baking some extra homemade granola bars and hoping it ices enough to keep from work, but not close the gym at the JJE. Have a great weekend all.  (Dec 13, 2008 | post #56)

Slappy, Haven't you learned from your wild accusations? C'mon, you been singing this tune for 3 years now. Come up with some proof. Put up, or shut up. You're simply not doing anything to help Florissant. The best thing for Florissant was these guys got canned. Hopefully, they'll have to pay us back what they took. Until you have proof that more people are involved, you should stop tossing wild stories into the wind. If this leads to Lowery, then so it shall be. I'm really worried about someone who is so driven to gloat and boast over the fallen. Put some of this energy into positive actions for the betterment of citizens who share your city. Simply waiting for someone to fall so you can snicker and gloat is rather sick. Gute Nacht Alle!!  (Dec 12, 2008 | post #50)

The only hope I'd see of Federal Charges in this case would be that they used the proceeds of their theft to cross State lines (i.e. Visit Las Vegas) and that would be a HUGE HUGE stretch for a Federal Prosecutor to hang his hat on. I think the locals will have this one all to themselves, Mr. McCoullough (sp?) does a good job. I have faith he'll represent Florissant in the matter. Have a good weekend everyone, hope to see you all around town. Slappy, I'll honk as I drive past. I forgive you for your baseless and unsubstantiated attack on me. Sorry my feelings contrary to your own made me your enemy.  (Dec 12, 2008 | post #44)

Something Completely Different

I am wanting to shoot some Holiday Video of Florissant. I'd like people suggestions for nice displays they've seen, or a place that makes you think of Christmas. If you want to help me out please drop me a quick note at [email protected] .net. Thank you in advance for the help. J-dub ps as soon as I get them posted I'll link the page on this thread. Merry Christmas!!  (Dec 12, 2008 | post #1)

Slappy, Can't you answer a simple question? What is my vested interest in this matter? You seem to like to accuse people of lying and you make a lot of statements about how people should behave, back up your accusation.  (Dec 12, 2008 | post #37)

Slappy, I know you're busy on another thread with your new name, but could you please answer my question? I have to run down to Clayton this afternoon, maybe you could ask me in person what my agenda is, if you're so inclined. Flotownguy; You're correct there. I wonder how many people who don't make $37k a year will NOT apply for this job, then complain that someone else got it. You can even apply on the internet (good for Topix users) but you have to eventually sign your name (oh, bad for Topix users).  (Dec 12, 2008 | post #33)

I agree with this 100%. Karma will come back to bite you. That is why you should never celebrate someone else's failings. Having said that, anyone who's had a conversation with me about golf, knows that I enjoy playing the game. I have a few very close friends who are in the Course Building Business and I enjoy course design and a good layout. I enjoy talking about golf and the people who are involved in it. I have played Old Flo 5 times. 3 times with clients of a previous company I worked for in the past. I felt that Joe was extremely rude and "country clubbish" for someone who really wasn't even accredited AND was a Municipal Course. Normally, these are places that employ up and coming Pros and they are generally very eager to help and represent their course. At Old Flo I always felt like an uninvited guest at their party. That is just my personal opinion. Secondly, I feel that the course is just a dog of a layout. It is too long and there is just too much real estate between holes and too many "gimmick " shots for the casual player. You have to play the course many times to learn the "local flavor". Unfortunately, unless you are compelled to return by cost of services most people won't. That is just my opinion again. I have always felt that this course would be better served if converted into a 9 hole and the rest of the land used for parkland or preferably sold off to rid Florissant of the responsibility and upkeep. Prior post stating this are readily available on topix as a well as many regular posters here who've I had that conversation with.  (Dec 11, 2008 | post #24)

That's quite a shot from someone who won't sign their name to it. Please tell me, am I being the unreasonable voice? Exactly what vested interest do I have in this matter? I don't work for the City. I don't even work in Florissant. Anyone with a lick of sense who knows me knows that I am opposed to what this Administration does wrong. I definitely not afraid of Mr. Lowery, I've stood toe to toe with him and let him know how I feel. Please, do tell me about my vested interest?  (Dec 11, 2008 | post #23)
