Broward County municipalities turn to privatization of go...

Outsourcing is not the only way of cutting expenses. Streamling and combining services is much more beneficial in the long run. We do not need all these little so called Cities, with managers, mayors, etc. Broward County is not that big that we can't streamline into 5 or 6 districts. Also now more then ever, people are willing to re-negotiate salary, benefits and employment status. Do we really need full-time employees in every position? Do we really need full crews everyday? Put people on alternating shifts of part time work until things get better. Outsourcing work created part of the economic situation we are now experiencing. There are many good ideas out there as you can see from these posts. Maybe we should all get together and resolve the situation. I beleive we have more brains then some of these elected officials.  (May 17, 2009 | post #79)

Haitian community gathers to mourn victims of boat tragedy

I'm sorry these people lost their life. However, this country cannot handle more mouths to feed, more people to exhaust our resources. We can all sound off, but it falls upon deaf ears. Our government doesn't give a crap about the people. Our politicinas care only about their personal agendas and what is in it for them. We need tougher laws. Such as get off that boat and we will shoot you. Step on our land and we will shoot you. Harbor an illegal immigrant and we will shoot both of you. Enough is enough already. We have way too many Americans going without food, housing, medical care. It is high time the government takes action.  (May 16, 2009 | post #31)

Consumer prices plummet: Consumer prices fall by the larg...

To make a genralized statement, that consumer prices plumment is only half truth. Prices are going down on the junk we don't need. However, the essentials, milk, bread, fruits and vegetables and gas are rising. As is insurance, electricity. At the end of the day the people are still getting screwed.  (May 16, 2009 | post #13)

Jobless Florida couple's job search struggles: Richard an...

I'm sorry these people lost their business. but enough already, there are thousands of us out here. All struggling, all doing whatever we can to stay afloat. I lost my job in October, couldn't find another one, put myself out there as an independent. No benefits, no guranteee for working tomorrow, but it keeps me from losing my home. I live without AC, turn off most of the eletric, no cable, no cell phone. a home line and dial up and eat one meal a day.I'm surviving.  (Apr 19, 2009 | post #38)

It's tragic that a man lost his life and a family lost a home, but we question the ability of 80 yr olds to drive cars and yet we let them fly planes. Sorry, but doesn't anyone else see a problem with this. I think 80 is just a little too old to handle a plane..  (Apr 19, 2009 | post #3)

Florida Legislature: Budget proposals in both chambers wo...

Yep that's politicans. Raise all of these fees. while giving tax breaks to those buying yachts and planes. Makes perfectly good sense to me. I want the drugs that these people take because they make you so insane, you wouldn't care about the state of the economy.  (Apr 15, 2009 | post #6)

Immigration enforcement: Increased immigration enforcemen...

If you are speaking to me, it is apparent that you cannot read. I didn't say anything about the children, I just stated that the product of something illegal cannot be considered legal. If you rob a bank do you get to keep the money? If you get caught with drugs, do you get to keep them. No, they are fruits of a poisoned tree. And God doesn't like ugly, but he appreciates truth.  (Apr 15, 2009 | post #372)

Immigration enforcement: Increased immigration enforcemen...

Several comments: First, the children although born on American Soil are the product of an illegal situation. Therefore, the product of an illegal act cannot be considered legal. So they need to go back as well. Secondly,he has been here 16 yrs and hasn't become a US citizen, what the hell took INS so long? If she were back in Haiti would she get government assistance. I don't think so. If the wife is a US citizen, let her get her arse out there and work. I am sure she knows of people who can watch her kids. The article states that these people were once self-reliant. EXCUSE ME THEY ARE FRIGGING ILLEGALS. THEY DON'T BELONG HERE. As far as a Social security number it will cost you between 5 and 10k to buy one. On a final note, will someone please stop the planet so I can get off. this friggin place is out of control.  (Apr 15, 2009 | post #367)

Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp: Records don't support ...

Day after day I read comments from South Floridians who are sick and tired of all the abuses made at the taxpayers expense, you're all tired of the unemployment, immigrants, economy and yet nothing is done? Why don't we all get together and instead of complaining DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. It is time to take positive steps to resolve the issues that involve us. We are stronger in numbers, we can be heard loud and clear when we all work together for the cause. It is time for change, it it time for the people to take back control and show these schmucks how to run the damn state and to let them know that we aren;t going to take their crap anymore.  (Apr 5, 2009 | post #41)

6 million dollars. These people are out of their %^^^&&^ & minds. Give them the medical bills and call it a day. It's a damn toe and the child won't be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, He is probably out of the wheelchair already. Then we wonder why the country is in the shape it's in. Because people are crazy and lawyers are vultures.  (Apr 4, 2009 | post #275)
