Ambitious Weiner sees media strategy backfire

Actually the majority of Americans don't give a rats patootie about whether Representative Weiner sent the photo or not. They just want him to tell the truth and quit obfuscating. It is going to be his downfall now because of the way he treated the media.  (Jun 5, 2011 | post #39)

The people who elect the people who represent them will always elect people whose stated ideals are similar to theirs. This doesn't make them idiots and it doesn't make the elected representatives idiots. Radical views from both ends of the political and ideological spectrums are the ones who cause the turmoil and vitriol.  (May 11, 2011 | post #1633)

Unless you are a homosexual who is attempting to get married here in Minnesota no one is forcing you to do anything. You can disbelieve all you want and you can continue to rant about being forced to believe. You are a fence sitter like none other. You continually say there is no God and yet say you will believe in God if God comes and sits down and chats with you. An Atheist has the courage to say there is no god. An Agnostic has the intelligence to say they do not know if there is a God or if there are several Gods. I'm not sure what that makes you.  (May 11, 2011 | post #1629)

Then it would become a part of the Constitution of the State of Minnesota and all law abiding Minnesotans would adhere to the Constitution unlike the homosexuals who feel they deserve to be above it at this juncture.  (May 11, 2011 | post #1626)

Or just read a book on the sunbject." Books are written by humans. The Bible waswritten by humans. Why do you insist that anyone believe one over the other? Aren't both of them books? "Take an astronomy class." The class will be taught by a human reading from a book written by another human. This book will purport to state facts determined by yet another human based on the assumptions of yet another human. You don't seem to be able to grasp the fact that our entire history has been written, painted, sculpted and orally continued by another human.  (May 11, 2011 | post #1615)

The debate will continue here and no one here will win it. The initiative will reach the ballot and if the homosexuals and their perceived allies do not get out the vote they will lose and the Mnnesota Constitution will be amended to define Marriage as between one Man and one Woman. I will be interested to see if, as the homsexual community claims, the majority of Minnesotans support same sex marriage.  (May 9, 2011 | post #1329)

That again is pure BS. Where is it written that God has said that God answers prayers. Many people have said that God has answered their prayers, not God. "When people pray we see that is not the case." Who are these we that see anything? Your cult following of non-believers who are a religion unto themselves?  (May 9, 2011 | post #1328)

I'll say the same thing you say to everyone who believes in God. Prove it. By the by, you didn't refute the FACT that you said no book is proof.  (May 9, 2011 | post #1327)

About the only thing I can say in response to this is you are a nutcase of the very first order. Either that or totally and irreversibly stupid. And before you go off the deep end with regard to me being a religious nut I will tell you i am an Agnostic.  (May 9, 2011 | post #1314)

If you truly believe what you have written, and I quote; "There is no proof in any books", you don't believe in anything. You can not justify the big bang theory because it is just that, a theory. You cannot believe anything that you have not seen with your very own eyes. No photographs, beause you didn't take the picture. No videos, because you didn't make the video. Where does leave you Tom?  (May 9, 2011 | post #1313)

Gay Marriage Ban Keeps Moving Toward Minn. Ballot

Do you honestly believe that the views of the religious right represent a far larger segment of American society than the views of the homosexual community? I am of the understanding that the consensus is that most religious people who are considered to be moderate, and most non-religious people, are not opposed to the marriage of same se couples. If this be the case all the homosexual community needs to do is galvanize these people and get them to vote for same se marriage.  (May 8, 2011 | post #205)

If this is what you believe then it is up to you and others who support the rights of the homosexual community to get the vote out. You can't sit back and say that others are doing a better job in that respect and use it as an excuse for not working harder than your opponents do.  (May 8, 2011 | post #199)

And, until the homosexual community became more agressively vocal, the word marriage was universally used to describe the contract as being between one man and one woman. If the homosexual community would find another word to describe their contract I believe that this initiative would die a rapid death.  (May 8, 2011 | post #198)
