Helllo fellow atheists! Who do you plan on voting for in ...

I like a lot of Ron Paul's ideas, but I would fear for the economy with his plans to make sweeping cuts in government spending. I think the military is WAY too big, but cutting the budget in half all of a sudden would mean a whole bunch of broke, trained killers would be out of work and on the streets. I don't like the size of our government, but I don't think that it can drastically shrink in a short period of time without bringing about chaos. I'll probably vote for Obama again.  (Jan 9, 2012 | post #13)

Atheism requires as much faith as religion?

So, you're one of those people who believe that there is some kind of worldwide satanist conspiracy, huh?  (Jan 9, 2012 | post #77804)

I doubt the druids were atheist. And I'm sure there are a lot of rubes who don't know jack sh!t about genetics that believe that DNA refutes evolution, but nobody who actualy researches the genome and understands the interrelatedness of all life on earth would hold such an backwards view of what he/she studies.  (Jan 9, 2012 | post #77800)

Yes, hydrogen can be easily produced in a lab. There are several methods where hydrogen is seperated from larger molecules. http://en.wikipedi a.org/wiki/Hydroge n_production  (Jan 9, 2012 | post #77799)

Heaven

If those are the only two options, oblivion does sound a lot better. The infinitely repeating existence is basically Nietszche's existential view, where you get reborn into the same life again and again, without any kind of carry over of consciousness or memory, so you better make the best of your life. Sounds lame. Infinite deep, dreamless sleep sounds betterYour version of paradise is pretty nice! Man, I tried a weed brownie once, and got so high that I thought that I might have been actually dreaming my whole entire life, and I was starting to wake up. I didn't kiss the sky, I think I kissed like, jupiter! What is scuba sex?  (Dec 13, 2011 | post #28)

Heaven

Great perspectives. I've wondered about this belief in heaven, fear of death paradox as well. It really doesn't make much sense at all. You would think that suicide, based on belief in the afterlife rather than the wish for nonexistence, would be the highest proof of faith possible, but christians often say that this will cause one to go to hell if you do it...or at least catholics, because there is no way to confess of that mortal sin.  (Dec 13, 2011 | post #27)

In the Search for an Alternative to God, One Rabbi Offers...

Is god a boy or girl, or neither? If he is a boy, why does he have a penis if he never intends to use it? (and vice versa, if it is a girl)  (Dec 13, 2011 | post #162)

In the Search for an Alternative to God, One Rabbi Offers...

What are your perspectives on what god actually is? Like, what are his/her qualities? What does he/she look like? How tall is he/she? Does he/she love everyone, or just the ones who constantly talk about him/her without ever having met him/her? In what sense did he/she exist prior to the creation of heaven and earth? Like, what and where was he/she? What did god make the universe out of?  (Dec 13, 2011 | post #161)

ATHEISTS: If once cannot love God, then can one love at all?

Ever heard that saying "There is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid people"?  (Dec 13, 2011 | post #15)

Is Satan Really Such A Bad Guy?

It says so little about Satan in the bible, that it is ridiculous to form an opinion one way or another about him being good or evil. All it really says is that he went against god. So what? I don't even believe in god. I think it may be Oscar Wilde who said something to the tune of Hell being home to the much more interesting people than those in heaven.  (Dec 10, 2011 | post #127)

What Is The Future Of Black Love?

Yeah. My siblings and I are mixed, and my older sister had children with a white man. Her kids all look white, her middle child even has strawberry blonde hair. They have curly hair though, not as straight as a typical white person's, but you'd never expect that they had black in them unless you were told.  (Dec 10, 2011 | post #14)

What Is The Future Of Black Love?

I don't think that most black people who have mixed relationships are any more ashamed of being black, than the white people they are involved with are ashamed of being white. If a black person falls in love with a white person, there is nothing wrong with it. I think the only problem comes in when people are opposed to dating thier own race. It really says something about a person when they don't want anything to do with people who look like their family.  (Dec 10, 2011 | post #12)

Why is everyone bisexual?

I think that if we were all raised to think that being bisexual were normal, then there would definitely be a lot more gay behavior going on. All these gay activists say all this stuff about how being gay isn't contagious, but it is a behavior or a lifestyle, not a physical thing. People who only have eyes for the opposite sex will never want to mess with thier own gender, but when the stigma of homosexuality is gone, there is going to be a whole lot more border crossing going on, if you know what I mean. In ancient greece, that sh!t was normal.  (Dec 1, 2011 | post #49)
