Serious Accident at Jefferson County Fair Today

Today the national guard was setting up the rock wall, when it hit into three power lines, and two men were seriously injured. With over 7000 volts hitting them. One of the men took the worst of it. Both were air lifted to UT. Then after stabled there, they were air lifted to Vandy. Please keep their familes in your prayers. They could really use them after this horrible accident today.  (Jul 29, 2009 | post #1)

who wants to come to a morristown topix cookout??

It seems that everyone is forgetting one thing, You have to rent those sheds at the parks. They aren't free. They charge a fee. If some are concerned about eating other ppls food, why not have something at a restaurant? That's what we did once before, met at Shoney's. I didn't get to go. But I know some did show up. And had a wonderful time. There's many places here in town like that, Shoney's, Ryan's, Golden Coral, Los Musico's (they have plenty of open seats). So if eatin ppls foods that you don't know .. is a concern.. why not meet at some place and eat?  (Jul 9, 2009 | post #104)

I miss Jerry toooo... I had the pleasure of meeting him before he left us. He was truly a wonderful man. And you can bet, if he were here, he wouldn't miss this for the world. He'd be the first one there!  (Jul 9, 2009 | post #103)

wedding cake

I've always went to Peggy Ann's to. I love their cakes. We have been going there for years. However this last cake we got from them was extremely overpriced and it was a boxed yellow cake. I was very disappointed and let them know. We had ordered a two teir cake. With a 10" and a 8". Both were to be double layers. With chocolate icing and what we got was a 1 layer 10" bottom with 1 layer 8" top. Covered in some awful chocolate stuff I won't even call icing. It was a very small cake, and we had ordered a very large one. And I was charged for the large cake. I live in another town, about 1 hr 15 mins or more away from the bakery. I had someone else pick it up and bring it to the party, and so there was no way to go back for another, so we had no choice but to serve that awful thing. Next time I will go in person to place the order with pics of the other cakes I've ordered. Because someone takin orders such didn't get the picture of what we were ordering over the phone. It was awful.  (Jun 17, 2009 | post #32)

Ryan's vs. Golden Corral

90% of all restaurant's foods are pre-cooked and packaged in factories. Very few items on the menu are cooked to order today. Most are in bags cut open and heated in a microwave. It's more a heat and serve world now. if you want some good honest clean homecookin, try the family style restaurants up around Johnson City, Shirley's is great! And so is the Farmer's Daughter (Erwin)....wonderf ul places to eat. Family Style, all you can eat... pick two meats and they bring all the sides, and if you want more, just ask. And you get homemade desserts, not something from a factory. As for Ryan's and GC, they are both pretty equal. I think Ryan's has the better waitresses, and I think GC has the better cooks, there's one guy on days that's just terrific on that grill. I've no idea what his name is, but he can do a mean burger n steaks..  (Jun 16, 2009 | post #25)

Sunday Sabbath?

The Bible does outline 7 days. The seventh day being the sabbath day. The Bible Does not state which day of the week is the Sabbath. Man made the calendar, man decided Sunday would be the 7th day because Monday was the first day of the work week. Other men decided the 7th day would be Saturday because the Men who made the calendar put Sunday as the first day of the week and Saturday as the last day. No one said it made any difference, its what man preferes. So why does it not have anything to do with a calendar made by man? It apparently has everything to do with a calendar that man made. Because men have choosen what day of the week the sabbath is on. God never stated what the days of the week were. So it does have everything to do with the man made calendar as to which day of the week the sabbath is held by most people in the world.  (Jun 15, 2009 | post #6)

Sunday Sabbath?

Most people observe Sunday because the work week starts on Monday, making Sunday the last day of the week. Seventh-Day Adventists observes Saturday, because the 'man made' calendar has Saturday as the last day of the week, and Sunday as the first day. The church seperated on this issue years ago, because some of their decons wanted to observe it on Saturday and some on Sunday, in the end the decons seperated and created Seventh-Day Adventist who observe on Saturday.  (Jun 15, 2009 | post #3)

Pizza Cottage

Your welcome :) I'm glad you went there and tried it for yourself. It's just the best there is. There's nothing like going to your hometown and gettin foods from hometown places you went to while growing up.  (Jun 15, 2009 | post #23)

Pizza Cottage

Sad, that rude comment was probably from someone who goes to the one by Walmart and are jealous that we actually like the one on the west end better. And I do not work there, do not have any family who works there. I just happen to love going there to get pizza and there's not a thing wrong with me stating my opinion about where I prefer to eat, or who has the orginal pizza and the best. It just happens to be Michael's Pizza Cottage that still serves the original pizza that Buffalo Trail had. And that we all loved going to get growing up.  (Jun 15, 2009 | post #22)

Pizza Cottage

Denise runs the one on the west end "Michaels Pizza Cottage" She grew up around the one in Buffalo Trail, when Michaels went on the market for sale she jumped at the chance to make sure the original Pizza Cottage would always be around. She is more than fair in her prices. She still has the pizza subs that were to die for at Buffalo Trail. Of course prices are much different now than they were at Buffalo Trail. It's afterall 10 yrs later. So prices aren't the same. But you can still get the same pizza from Buffalo Trail Pizza Cottage at Michael's on the west end.  (Jun 14, 2009 | post #17)
