Unemployed to receive state debit cards

Look who's talking idiot...you say you are so busy with your four kids but you have posted more on this board than any of us!!! I'm through arguing with you, you are an idiot who will always USE the system and will always think it is owed to you. Case closed. While I wish your children the best, I think you need to get a job and a life.  (Dec 12, 2006 | post #111)

Excuse me, but I think she is on topic. If topic is people who take tax money but don't need it...you fit that description!  (Dec 12, 2006 | post #107)

I am VERY different from you. I worked before I had my kid and would still be working if we couldn't afford for me to stay home. My kid deserves whatever she gets handed because WE pay for it. By the way, I NEVER went to camp during the summers. I played with friends, did chores around the house, etc. Don't say your kids "go without" because they ONLY get to go to one camp. It just sounds more like you want to ship them out so you can have some free time. And I can't say it any clearer that you don't NEED benefits, you NEED to get a job.  (Dec 12, 2006 | post #106)

You don't NEED benefits, you NEED to hire a babysitter and get a couple jobs to support the family you created. And those Carmel moms (or myself who doesn't live in Carmel) stay home because they have husbands to support their families. I only have 1 kid...but I have the ABILITY to stay home becuase my husbands salary allows for that. Our cars are nicer than yours because we can afford them and pay for them with the money that our family EARNS by WORKING. Get a job!  (Dec 11, 2006 | post #76)

If you are actually comparing sales tax to income tax...you are nuts! Especially since the money you are using to pay those sales taxes weren't earned through any work on your part.  (Dec 11, 2006 | post #74)

Wow! #1 - Please don't call yourself a stay at home mom and give the rest of us a bad name. People who can't afford to take care of themselves and live off the government and other tax paying citizens are not stay at home moms...they are bums. If you have the means to support your family (either a husband with a good job or a ton of personal savings) then stay at home. If not, get a job (or two or three). Being able to stay at home with your children is not something that the rest of us should have to pay you a salary for doing!! #2 - That Carmel millionaire is paying in tons of taxes on his "millionaire " salary to deserve to get Social Security when it is due him. #3 - If your kid got expelled, it was in some way her fault. I'm tired of parents who always say their kid is perfect. Did you just push these kids out so you could get more gov't benefits? Making excuses like not having help or a babysitter are lame. Don't expect sympathy for not being able to send you kids to camp...that is a luxury. So is internet access, which you obviously have connected to your "donated " computer. The computer may not have spell check, but a normal brain (especially high school educated) does.  (Dec 11, 2006 | post #70)

Student puts on weight thanks to free breakfast

Are you actually saying feeding children breakfast is the governments way of taking over our children? If this was an article about someones kid not being given a free breakfast because they didn't fit into the free category by a few dollars...you would be upset because the government wasn't paying for your food. If the parents point is that she wants to be informed about what goes on at school...then I agree with her. Come on though, if the weight gain is from this breakfast (and not lack of exercise)...now you know what is happening and can do something about it (like sending a note to the school saying you don't want your kid to be fed instead of wasting your time writing letters to the paper).  (Dec 11, 2006 | post #8)

Many poor lack heating assistance

Please don't include the rest of us (who may not agree with you) in your "so we ALL can see if your human or not you certin" comments. It's a shame you went into such debt for that college education and still can't spell. I'd laugh if someone called me a "certin" .  (Dec 11, 2006 | post #87)

Agency: Vandalized gate led to Kims' tragic journey

Given that I'm the "Ms. Indy" you refer to...my husband does know my priorities as we discussed these posts last night at dinner. He agrees with me (and don't even bother calling him stupid too because I already know thats what you think). I'm not disputing what survival experts say about staying put. I'm just saying that I think if anyone was put in this situation that they would have done the same thing (and maybe not have waited as long to do it). It's not like he sat around for a day and was like "you know what, I need to prove that I'm a MAN and go out and save my family"...the y waited, and waited, and waited...for what I'm sure seemed like eternity with two small, cold children in the car. After it seemed there was no hope of being found, he did what he thought was necessary to save his family. Are you sure you would just sit there indefinitely as your family sat hungry in a cold car? If so, I would call you foolish. I'm glad you've kept a cool head in your past emergencies, but have you ever been in this same situation to really know what you would do? I hope none of us ever have to find out. I'm not saying we should call him a hero...but I don't think we should call him stupid.  (Dec 10, 2006 | post #14)

Shelter needs coats, food for homeless

I don't know where you get your information, but I work in the office at my church and have friends who work in the ministry I spoke of...I've seen the bill from Gleaners for the FOOD that was BOUGHT. It's not a donation we gave them and it's only food that we got from them. I know for a fact that they SELL FOOD! They do give out food for free to some and they do sell to some. I know my facts...please get yours straight before telling me I don't know what I'm talking about.  (Dec 9, 2006 | post #65)

I didn't say people from other states shouldn't post. People posting worth while comments are more than welcome. (I think a poll of the people on the boards would agree you are annoying.) I post while my baby naps. If you commute, that means you work. If you are working...why are you wasting your employers money by spending so much time on the internet. Do you work for Topix and have the duty to go around loading down the boards with crap?  (Dec 8, 2006 | post #49)

Lilly gives $10M to Riley to fight diabetes

What is the difference between Pharma and tobacco? 100,000 people a year die. Ok... 100,000 people die (don't know where you got that "fact" but lets say its true). How many people are saved by the pharma industry? I don't have a number that is fact...but I do know that it is much, MUCH higher than that of the tobacco industry which is ZERO. There's the difference. I guess you could say Lilly pays me to comment since my husband works for them, developing drugs in hopes to save people...not kill them. Just because some of what Lilly does is wrong, does not mean everything they do is wrong. And as far as the Riley gift goes, would you prefer that Lilly had just kept that money as profit? I think the people who wrote praises did so because they have hopes that money (no matter what intentions were behind it being given) will help find cures and good treatments that can help them.  (Dec 8, 2006 | post #3)

Alzheimer's study rejects Zyprexa use

My opinion is that if you want info (to prevent your father from becoming another Daniel Haszard Lilly Hater) you should contact another doctor and get a second opinion. Exactly what Daniel should have done when his doctor prescribed off label. I admire you wanting what is best for your in-law...so don't take the opinion of anyone on this website because most likely they won't have accurate information and you don't know if they are even being truthful. Good luck!  (Dec 8, 2006 | post #8)
