Elwood boy, 2, drowns in backyard pool

For you to compare this to sliding on an icy road is ridiculous. You cant help sliding on ice and hitting someone, But you CAN keep an eye on YOUR child. This kid was 2 years old. Its not like an 8 year who knows the difference. I dont think the family meant for this to happen either, but until they start charging family's with negligence this kinda thing is going to keep happening. Everybody wants to feel sorry for the family's loss and console them in this painful time but what about that little boy? And since the family did not take responsibility for watching the child they should be charged with negligence.  (Sep 24, 2007 | post #28)

Muncie couple fights to keep 5 dogs

This is stupid. Yes, if the animals were constantly barking I could understand. But the neighbor in the article says she does not even see the dogs outside anymore because of previous complaints of barking. And what would be the difference if there were 5 dogs barking verses 3. It does not make since. My neighbor has 1 cocker spaniel that barks from the time they let it out til the time it goes back in. I hate that stupid dog, but I would never call and complain about it. My neighbors are an older couple and that dog is their life. Leave this family be and let them have their dogs. If they are caring for them properly and keeping things clean WHO CARES!!!  (Sep 24, 2007 | post #72)

Elwood boy, 2, drowns in backyard pool

This story is just sad and it angers me to hear another child dies because someone could not keep thier eye on them. As a parent you can not expect someone else to watch your child for you. Even in house full of people. That child is your responsibilty. People to often turn thier backs on small children when there is a pool around. My parents have an inground pool and the rule is the kids are not aloud in the backyard without a life vest on. I dont care if they are going out to sit on the deck with 20 other people out there with them. They will have a vest on. Alot of people say that I am an anal parent because I am watching him constantly, exspecially when around a pool or lake. Kids are drawn to water and love playing it. It is the parents responsiablity to keep that child safe from harm. And this is just another example of it only taking 1 minute for a child to wander away.  (Sep 24, 2007 | post #20)

911 call: Boyfriend found 1st sister unresponsive

The first sister's 911 call was recorded and yes the mom did seem a little calm for the situation. I personaly dont think the parents are involved though. I think they need to check out the boyfriend more. The second sisters 911 call was not recorded because of the equipment failure. It is just so sad. The older sister was also a mother to a young child who will now grow up without her. I sure hope they find out who or what happened to these girls.  (Sep 18, 2007 | post #16)

Teen dies in Southern Indiana lake

I am not sure if we are talking about the same Shawn or not. My friend Shawn drowned in 88/89. His name was Shawn Gordon and he went to BDJH and he went by the nick name CC.  (Jul 23, 2007 | post #22)

Teen dies in Southern Indiana lake

I also had a friend die the same way the summer of our 8th grade year. (Shawn/CC)My heart goes out to the family and all the young kids who have to deal with the outcome. I remember how hard it was at such a young age to realize that life can end that quick.  (Jul 23, 2007 | post #15)

The shows may not go on

I seen on a news clip that they might move to Lizton and open up under a new name. Something about daylight savings time is making them lose money. Saying it is still light out at 9:30pm. The shows dont even start til 10pm. By the time you watch the 2 movies you paid for it is 2 in the morning. But if they move out to Lizton where there are less lights (IRP,parking, bussi ness,ect..) to blaze up the nights sky they can start the movies earlier. I hope that is what they do, because I love taking the family there to watch movies.  (Jun 27, 2007 | post #3)

Officer's widow: he can rest now

So what are you saying Sue? That your friend was was innocent. Right? Where were you when this friend was getting into trouble. And for you to call everyone else mentally ill is too funny. Step back and look at yourself for finding it right to support people who MURDER the innocent. Exspecially the ones who Protect and Serve. I think it is funny that everyone in jail finds god. I never knew he spent so much time there. And if this was the most spiritual person you have ever met than he made his piece before he left. Its just a shame that he wont meet God in Hell. And as for them spending the rest of there life in jail is a joke too! I dont want to have to pay for them LOSERS. That is money out of our tax dollars. And yes people do get drunk and dont remeber what happens, But 99.9% of those people dont have guns on them either. This guy was up to no good from the time he steped out of the house.  (Jun 15, 2007 | post #160)

Officer's widow: he can rest now

He knew what was gonna happen to him from the time he pulled the trigger. He not only shot him once but 5 times in the BACK of the head. How can you have any remorse for him? People talk about how killing a person for them killing another is wrong. NO its not wrong, its the LAW. Letting this guy lay in bed and basically go to sleep is WRONG. They should have took him out back and stoned him to death. You know as a kid that Killing someone can give you the Death Penalty and Killing a Cop is pretty much writing your own death sentence. Police go out every night to protect YOU and your FAMILY from people like him. I bet if it was your husband, wife, child or family you would be in the room making sure justice is being served too.  (Jun 15, 2007 | post #133)

Officer's widow: he can rest now

My brother is a police officer and I could not imagine the pain the family has gone threw. His children growing up not knowing their Father, His wife doing it on her own trying to stand tall and proud for her children in honors of her husband. My heart goes out to them and all the other families that have lost someone in the line of duty.  (Jun 15, 2007 | post #104)

Airport board hearing smoking arguments

That is funny. I worked at the airport for 8 years and they are worried about CIGARETTE smoke. What a joke. Non-Smokers need to get over it!! Makes me want to light up and blow it in there face. The last thing I want is to be trapped on a plane with a person for 4 hours who did not get that last puff before they took off. I dont smoke and dont believe it is my right to tell people what they can and cant do. I think they need to put a ban on all the people who keep banning things. THIS IS AMERICA PEOPLE.  (Jun 15, 2007 | post #10)

Third boat-ramp death prompts changes

I am not understanding, Does the boat ramp drop off into 20+ feet of water. I just dont see how 3 diffrent people can drive off the ramp and drowned. I have not been to this boat ramp but I have been on plenty of other boat ramps and can usually walk out into the water a ways before it is even over my head. When my husband puts the boat into the water the whole trailer is under til his bumper of the truck. Was the kid speeding? I have been to Brookville tons of times, I have a camper on the river and the only place around to go faster than 35 is on 52. I just dont understand...... But my heart goes out to the familys of people that have died because of this. Hopefully they can find something to do so it does not happen again.  (Jun 14, 2007 | post #13)
