Man charged with growing marijuana

How did he neglect the kids? From the article it sounds like he neglected them by allowing them to live in the same home as some pot plants... Was the home filthy, did he not feed them or take care of them, or is just having the plants around constitute neglect? Sure, bust him and send him to jail for growing pot... but if the only reason he's being charged with neglect is because of the plants then that charge seems rather bogus to me.  (Mar 14, 2008 | post #2)

IMPD investigates Eastside shooting

The "East side" of Indianapolis is geographically larger and more populated than any other of the city's four quadrants. The near east side has many more low income apartments and more section 8 housing.  (Mar 12, 2008 | post #25)

Inmate accused of strangling cellmate

looks like it was supposed to be the dead guy's last day in prison... kind of odd that he'd be in the same cell as the murderer. wonder if the warden ordered a code red...  (Mar 10, 2008 | post #49)

'Idol' voters hold on to Indiana singers

"I was scared for a minute. I think they did that for shock value," said Katy Gentry, who went to Crawfordsville High School and sung in show choir with Menard. I know this is her friend, but Overmyer was one of the worst of the female singers, THAT would be why she was in the bottom two, I doubt shock value had anything to do with it. Same goes for Menard. I'd like to see both of them do well on the show, but lets be realistic, they're not in the top ten of all of the remaining contestants.  (Feb 29, 2008 | post #1)

Reassessment finds business property undervalued

a big "DUH" to this article... assessors care more about businesses leaving their township than homeowners.  (Feb 29, 2008 | post #13)

Source: Players support Sampson

That's got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this board... and that's saying something. Knight was an embarrassment, but at least he didn't cheat... Fire Sampson and whatever the players do is up to them... if they quit, they should lose their scholarships. They clearly don't care if IU gets penalized more so because they chose to keep Sampson.  (Feb 22, 2008 | post #223)

4-story Eastside hotel planned

Dude, any place that you can stay the night for under $30 isn't going to be great.. I forgot about the Knights in... it sits behind some other businesses.. no it's not a great hotel... at least it's hidden from the road.  (Feb 13, 2008 | post #59)

I guess this place wont allow my whole link... but if you move out east of where that puts you to 21st and Shadeland you'll see...  (Feb 12, 2008 | post #54)

4-story Eastside hotel planned

the Hotels there do very well, I don't know why anyone would bother building a 4 story hotel without some market research... I'm betting that they did their homework, and the naysayers on here are clueless as usual.  (Feb 12, 2008 | post #26)

4-story Eastside hotel planned

The old Steak and Ale is now a Mexican/Italian restaurant... and 6900 E 21st is West of Shadeland... wrong side of Shadeland to be at that location. And I have seen nothing to indicate that this Patel is the same as the Indy East Patel.  (Feb 12, 2008 | post #15)

there's only one "dumpy" hotel around this intersection... The Fairfield, Marriott and Holiday Inn's are in pretty decent shape.  (Feb 12, 2008 | post #10)
