Coming from Kentucky, as it appears you do, I'll take your concern to heart. As I've been told, a virgin in Kentucky, is a 12 year old that can outrun her uncle. Why stop with people who may have earned that money thru dubious means, why not just take everybody's money, over a certain threshold amount? That wouldn't socialism, now would it? I think it's too late for that, we now have about half of the voters in this country with no IRS liability, they dont pay taxes, and will only vote for that to continue. Obama, and all the people around him, have never been in business, or even worked in the private sector,they have no clue. When you work for the govt, you never have to worry about making payroll on Friday, having your taxes filed quarterly, dealing with disgruntled employees, dealing with banks, insurance companies, regulatory agencies that can shut you down for no reason ( EPA, OSHA, DOD, HUD) and any host of daily annoyances that normal business people have to put up with...only to be taxed heavily on any money they make. The economy thrives when people buy stuff...the stuff they buy, has to be designed, built, transported, sold and serviced, and the people in that chain are paid for their work, and they pay is taxed, and then the tax money is used to fund the govt programs. Without people being able to keep and spend their own money, the economy will not bounce back. So the obvious thing to do is immediately suspend all payroll tax deductions for 12-18 months, and everybody will immediately get huge paychecks, with no deductions, and they will go out and spend that money on cars, furniture, appliances, clothes, vacations, TV's, cellphones, houses, boats, etc. And a lot of people who have been laid off in those industries will be called back to produce the stuff that the purchasers are looking for. But it will never happen, Obama prefers to do the opposite, grow govt, and tax people and industry. If we survive his next 3 years, we can start over and try again. (Friday Dec 4 | post #26)
