SummerGrove is no longer a jewel but a "COW PATTY"

The video stands on its own. It doesn't matter one way or the other if all or a single problem depicted in the video has been corrected. At one point it wasn't. The problem existed and it was captured on film and it's shameful. Those that have tried to downplay the video lose sight of the fact that serious problems exist in SummerGrove. It's very easy to make the claim that the video is of old or corrected problems. What does that prove? What does that solve? All that proves is the board did a crappy job back then too.  (Tuesday Aug 11 | post #1947)

I'll say it again, it's irrelevant. It doesn't matter if the ratio of administrators to homes is 2:50 or 1:500, they obviously are getting the job done when it comes to covenant enforcement. The SummerGrove POA is not! The SummerGrove POA places far more importance on social activities than it does protecting OUR largest investments. The POA can find $250,000 for plants, but can't seem to figure out how to enforce rules.  (Friday Aug 7 | post #1943)

The number of homes are completely irrelevant when it come to covenant enforcement. If the by-laws call for covenant enforcement...it has to be done. If the by-laws call for a progressive compliance process...you do it. You don't do nothing because the community grows and its TOO much work. How stupid is that? Its that mentality that created the video. It's that idiotic mentality that has put this community in the current state. When a city annexes real estate do they stop providing services to residents? NO! When a city grows do they stop enforcing laws? NO! Come on bill you are much smarter than that. The pools needed help monitoring the pools and enforcing the rules...so what did they do? Did they shut the pools down? No! They incorporated a monitoring program. You just put in to words and confirmed what people have been saying all along. Thank's for the confirmation. The property manager is lazy and doesn't want to do the job and the board allows the excuses. No one is claiming covenant enforcement is easy. It's not. BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE! Covenant enforcement should be high on the list of property management. If the property manager needs help then stop running off people that want to volunteer and help. SUPPORT the volunteers! After all its OUR community. By the way - the pool monitor program is flawed too!  (Thursday Aug 6 | post #1940)

If I may interject, since you feel that prevention is impossible are you advocating the POA throw in the towel when it comes to covenant violations? (hmmm - is it me or does Doubtful have an eerie resemblance to the infamous Skeptic?)  (Wednesday Jul 29 | post #1924)

Take a look at the SG budget. Does the amount we pay the property manager look like a part-time salary to you? We definitely do not get what we are paying for.  (Jul 13, 2015 | post #1909)

Those are the only questions? Really? How about: Where's the property manager? What is the property manager doing all day, every day? Where are the board of directors? Where is the covenant committee? Where is the covenant committee chair? Where is the board liaison to the covenant committee? Where are the neighbors that live in/around these homes? Where are the rest of you? This video should really piss each and every SG homeowner off! But, you allowed it to happen by allowing those seven people ruin this community. These issues are not just relating to resident homes. Notice that over half are of common areas and monuments which are the responsibility of the poa.  (Jul 6, 2015 | post #1896)

Everyone should attend the upcoming SG POA meeting. We received the formal invitation via email. Attend to hear the $h!t these folks spew. They are good at what they do, which is very little.  (May 12, 2015 | post #1882)

Ahh, there is some truth to this post. I am not familiar with our covenants specifically addressing weeds. In fact, I don't recall in our covenants where it addresses the height of grass on a lot other than an undeveloped builder lot. This is a prime example of doing whatever feels good at the moment. Precedence means nothing to our board and pm. Weed letters, as you call them, could have been sent out for 10 years and all of a sudden they don't feel like doing it anymore just because weeds are not addressed in our covenants? Seems like the lazy yet cowardly way out. If the shoe fits wear it.  (Apr 1, 2015 | post #1879)

I need for all the SG rocket scientists, engineers, chemists and Stephen Hawking types to explain to me why the association has this new state of the art tracking system for covenant violations and our community still looks the way it does? How come the covenant committee continues to tout this new software and its abilities?? High tech means nothing unless there is human intervention. Just because this software is state of the art means squat when the board and pm cant get off their hands and get out into the community. The answer is not bigger, better high priced software. The answer is simple...desire. The desire to do what's right has to be the fundamental and driving force. Oh snap, I did it now.Fundamental is a 4-letter word with this group. picnic = Problem In Chair Not In Computer  (Nov 4, 2014 | post #1857)

Great post! Bill Boyd will get in again. He knows the routine. He'll go door to door again to get just enough proxies to get his a$$ back on the board. The system/process is severely flawed. But don't expect the board to fix it, because they benefit from it.  (Oct 28, 2014 | post #1854)

laxative removed the white picket fence that was lopsided, broken and way beyond tacky. One would think that would be enough for the POA to ask that it be removed. Apparently not. It's gone! Now can someone, bill (septic) or one of the two covenant committee people or hey maybe even the pm, address the commercial van that continues to be parked in the driveway and on the street across the street from laxative. I believe commercial vehicles are prohibited from continued parking? Can someone confirm or deny? Thank you and take care.  (Sep 16, 2014 | post #1837)

Has anyone else noticed the annoying over abundance of ads in the SummerGrove newsletter. The intranet is a crowded mess too. They are quickly becoming the SummerGrove advertisement and no longer a source of information. I completely understand and support these advertisements as they defer costs, but good heavens where’s the beef? Moderation people, moderation. Each edition of the newsletter has less and less substance and more and more rubbish. I’m sick and tired of seeing the same old ads and the same faces on the ads. What little money the poa is paying to produce the newsletter is definitely being wasted. That’s more of our money being thrown away. The content (what of it there is) is poor and useless. Committees that do actually contribute are regurgitating the same stuff issue after issue in most cases. They move some sentences around, change or delete some words here and there; it’s obvious the newsletter has jumped the shark. It has become a formality and no longer a resource. We get the same old BS from the prez. He only addresses the issues he wants to address in the newsletter. He never addresses what needs to be addressed. I would rather the poa print the committee’s reports they submit to the board each month. Oh, that’s right they can’t do that because the committee chairs can’t be bothered to attend a meeting much less formulate a report to the poa. Our board condones this lackadaisical behavior. The board says "But they’re volunteers". SO WHAT? Let people volunteer that want to get something done. Laziness runs downhill, along with other substances. These committee members take the lead from our board and pm. Stop the newsletter instead of our meetings.  (Sep 11, 2014 | post #1834)
