Where to find the high quality frozen yogurt mix??

Does anyone know any Taylor technician in the Washington metro area? Taylor had replaced the motor on one of our machine and few weeks after it was operating, the barrel is no longer cold. Called Taylor and they said it is not related to the motor that was replaced. Anyone has an idea what went wrong?  (Mar 13, 2015 | post #2000)

Where to find the high quality frozen yogurt mix??

Hello Ncomm, We have been in business since 2012 and it has been a struggle so we closed it last winter and planning to reopen in the spring however, we are adding crepe since i heard it is easy to make and will compliment the yogurt. If only we had the space, i would add scoop ice cream. Good luck  (Mar 13, 2015 | post #1999)

Where to find the high quality frozen yogurt mix??

Hello Everyone, I was wandering if anyone has seen this error message "beater overload". I have a Taylor 723 and the error keeps popping up. I have replaced the blades twice and nothing happens. The last time we had this error on one of our machines, the Taylor rep came over and all they recommended was to scrape off the foam from the yogurt, click the Sel button, turn machine off, click the reset button and that should do it. Well, it worked for some time and now back to the same problem. I was wandering if anyone has any suggestions or know any one that fixes Taylor machines in the Washington/Baltimo re area. Thank you.  (Jul 31, 2014 | post #1949)

We've settled with Califonia tart as well. Do you label as califonia tart or Plain tart? I'll try HH cookies N cream. I hope its as creamy as yocream because that is one of our big sellers. I will call only 8 and see if we can get sample. Thanks JanJan1  (Aug 12, 2013 | post #1824)

Hi Froyo, I am sure the boba will pick up soon once folks know you have it. i hear its a good seller. We have been seriously thinking about it and we just have to do it- and yes, no tasting, no sample cups, no questions on what tapioca balls is made off. The only drawback is the cooking of the tapioca balls since our kitchen is really small. How often do you cook the tapioca? i goggled acai bowl? sounds interesting and simple. Not a bad idea since we sell all ingredients except Acai puree and have to keep banana all the time. Hmmmm..  (Aug 12, 2013 | post #1821)

We haven't tried their original tart yet since we seem to have settled with the califonia tart from honey hill. We initially started with Yocream Eurotart which is great but we decided to try other products since US foods changed their schedule. We then switched to Cielo's original tart and customers loved it but shipping was too expensive. InstantWhip delivers honeyhill products and toppings for only only $3. I am not sure how long ago you purchased Yocream but Yocream's prices have gone up. We still buy yocream's cookies n cream, mango tango and their prices have changed from $27 to $37. We haven't tried honeyhill's cookies n cream and their mango but yocream's cookies n cream is very creamy and customers love it.  (Aug 12, 2013 | post #1820)

Hello Ncomm, I agree with Froyo- average drawing should cost you about $500 or less. In regards to the sink, the standard is the 3 compartment (steel) plus you need to have another steel sink for your mops. Not sure what make of machine you plan to buy but we have the water cool taylor machine. I think its best to ask the sales person. I visited a convenient neighborhood store and they had 3 taylor air cool machine and the shop was hot even in the winter. The owner said he does not even turn on the heater and those machine generate alot of heat. About cleaning the machine- Each machine will take you an average of 45-50 mins to clean- taking them apart, regreasing and putting back. We wash our machine weekly or maximum every other week depending on how late we stay on friday nights but its best to try washing weekly and if its too much for you, wash everyother week. its very time consuming and you don't really want to have young folks cleaning your machine because that is a big investment. As for how long it takes to close, it takes about 20-30mins. Not sure what type of register you have or plan to have but it shouldn't take you more than 20mins as long as you start early. Do the basic cleaning first-mopping, trash, bathroom and sitting areas. Once that is done, then you have your spoons and taking off the designer caps from your machine and cleaning out the yogurt. What takes time is opening and that could run you about an hour. Good luck  (Aug 8, 2013 | post #1815)

Have you checked Newberry's frozen yogurt? i think their yogurt powder is cheap plus sugar is low, calories is about 8 calories per ounce. (Customers love that). We received some samples and our customers seem to like it. Yocream has gone up from $27. Not sure if JanJan still pays $27 per case but the cost is about $37-38 on the average. Honeyhill and Yocream now charge about the same price.  (Aug 8, 2013 | post #1814)

Thanks Froyo. ...So, its like for every $1 you spend, you get 10 cents and you can still use it as cash. That is pretty neat. How do they check their balances? I like that. We plan on getting rid of the punch cards and get a better system with no contract required but there are too many to choose from. Our POS system has a marketing program that can assign cards to a customer, we've purchased the cards and we are yet to figure it out. I guess that will be some work in the winter. Thanks again  (Jul 5, 2013 | post #1796)

Thanks JanJan1. The belly program we have also uses an ipad and it tracks customer visits but does not track how much customer spends. They get free yogurt depending on their visit and visit could mean just paying for water. The reason why i do not like it is because it does not track how much customer is spending. Does your program track customers's average spending? Can you share your .  (Jul 5, 2013 | post #1795)

What type of loyalty programs is everyone using? we recently started the punch cards which we plan to roll to loyalty cards and in addition we have the belly program and now running amazon deals once in a while. I was speaking with a marketing company and they said we are giving too many things away and we need to stop giving punch cards during the summer. What are others using?  (Jul 3, 2013 | post #1791)

Taylor will not help you make your own mix. They sell you equipment and recommend yogurt manufactures. If your machine is under warranty, call taylor back and they should be able to help. Are you a yogurt shop/ice cream owner or you are planning to be make yogurt/ice cream maker or some sort? Not sure what you mean by homemade mix? if you are a yogurt shop owner, why waste your effort in making homemade mix when there are so many yogurt manufactures out there. Have you tried Yocream, honeyhillfarms, rainbows end, and so many others out there?  (Jul 3, 2013 | post #1790)

We are in the same boat- menchies is opening about a block away from us and a menchies franchise cost over $300 thousand. This will be interesting as we don't have franchise fees, money was from our pocket, no bank fees, and very flexible in adding stuff. i feel for the owners but its a great thing for the company- all they do is sit back and take franchise fees. They sure will experience winter fun season.  (Jul 3, 2013 | post #1789)
