Greed tiger must be fenced in

The "haves" are greedy and the "have-nots " covet. ...and the solution is to make everyone socially and economically equal. what do you all think of this thought?  (Apr 17, 2010 | post #2)

NUDE YOGA Shedding clothes to shed insecurities

group nude yoga - no need for it. it's disturbing and perverse. YUCK and I agree, it's not newsworthy. it is, however, a reminder of the disturbing and perverse that exists.  (Apr 11, 2010 | post #27)

Pittsfield Stabbing Ex-athlete was victim

Many on here talk about "not judging" the man who lost his life. Too bad. At one point, he was judged and sent to jail. Still, he went back to a life of crime. Sounds to me he should have received a large dose of judgement from the "caring" individuals who say they knew him, while he was alive and dealing drugs, again. Something like, "what you are doing is wrong" or, "you are contributing to the ills of this world" or "you can do better than this" At one time, the man had his act together. Pretty sad story.  (Mar 8, 2010 | post #74)

Three-year-old admits causing baby's death

NO good, loving mother/father leaves children alone for 3 hours without another responsible adult there to be in charge. this is indeed neglect/endangerme nt. and homicide, as that is what resulted from her 3 hour absence. take her child away and send her to jail. so very very selfish on part of mother, and extremely stupid.  (Jan 31, 2010 | post #26)

Will Brown pull an Obama?

Jeffrey - I watch Fox news every day. In all fairness to the other side, I have become more aware of their manner of reporting because I read a lot of posts/hear a lot of comments saying Fox is not fair and balanced, and even hateful. While there is certainly a conservative bias, and yes, there are some instances where the other side might be offended, I would hardly call anyone on Fox hateful. I have heard rants from Keith Olberman that frankly, are just terrible for a human being to say about another human being. I cannot say that at all about anyone on Fox, not even O'Reilly, Hannity. Nonetheless, if anyone watches Fox all the time, it is not a good thing. I personally don't care to live and breathe the political stuff. It can be upsetting and it can be consuming. I like to think that I am "fair and balanced." ;-)  (Jan 27, 2010 | post #19)

and the people who assist with providing those tools should be families FIRST. government should not be the first ones to dole out the goods, not in America. just my opinion.  (Jan 24, 2010 | post #26)

...and do not force anyone to buy something they do not need/want ...and do not force people to provide services that goes against their conscience ...and stop perpetuating a culture of gvt. dependency. people who are able-bodied ought to be encouraged and assisted with the tools first needed to get working and financially independent.  (Jan 24, 2010 | post #25)

corrupt politicians cannot be counted on to help clean up the corruption in health care, as indicated in a few of the above posts (big-pharma and big insurance companies). who is a corrupt politician? usually we never know unless, I am apologizing in advance to those of you who discount Fox News, you watch Fox News. I am sorry, but you will not get balanced reporting from the other networks. it is a good thing to get new blood like Scott Brown. Let us hope he is an independent thinker and not going to just go with the flow like Martha Coakley would have done. As for the health care reform bill, here are some things I would like discussed seriously: the future of medicare and how to manage it responsibly social security benefits for people on long term disability help for people/families who are faced with illness that could potentially bankrupt them long term care such as nursing homes and long term care insurance . home health insurance tort reform wellness programs for at-risk groups. use of ER rooms as primary care - eliminate this problem. the private sector gets involved and new business is formed, employing people. government does not run healthcare, but regulates to prevent fraud and other abuse of the systems. it has got to take a long time to take a look at all of the problems and inefficiencies of the current system. you have to set up bipartisan committees with input from the privatre sector and professions that are health-care providers or oriented that way. i cannot support a bill that is one-party devised and rushed through to be voted upon. it is just a ridiculous idea from such "intelligent " people. slow down, take a breathe, assess and work together to fix what is broken or most broken. stick by the rule that it should not bankrupt our country to pay for the repairs. where is the common sense?  (Jan 24, 2010 | post #23)

it is a darn good thing for America that Scott Brown won the election. it is perhaps the "truest" - most honest - action to come out of and to our national government. VA, NJ, and MA....the majority have spoken. thank you MA independent voters! the message, as far as I am concerned, is that we do not want it: complicated health care reform that is rushed and cheated through to vote, without thoughtful debate and "transparency "... focus on helping people get back to work! people out of work - loss of employer health ins - please, put the horse back before the cart.  (Jan 24, 2010 | post #12)

Same egotists are bringing us down

a year has passed and I would ask those who continue to do so, please stop it, stop blaming the Bush administration for the problems that are happening now. I am unhappy with the current administrations policies. I am focused on THIS administration. Apparently, many other Americans are unhappy, too. Good for us for taking action.  (Jan 21, 2010 | post #53)

Palin/Brown in 2012!

why does the new senator need the pressure? I know Pres Obama's short time in Senate before going for Pres. I didn't like it. As far as I was concerned, the man had no business running. But he did and he won the popularity contest. let Brown focus on being Senator. to say things like Palin/Brown in 2012 right now, in my opinion, is silly and frankly, I think it is being said to irk the other side. let's not look like fools like the dems did when obama won the pop. contest.  (Jan 21, 2010 | post #38)

Palin/Brown in 2012!

Scott Brown's win in MA - my home state - is great news! But please, slow down. Brown/Palin or Palin/Brown in 2012 - no. This just makes me think your giddiness post election has gotten the best of you. let's get a grip. Brown is a lawyer and a politician - just like the majority in DC. Let's watch and keep the fire burning that it cannot be politics as usual anymore. Promises are words. Let's see the action. Feelings vs. reality Anything is possible, of course, but right now, let the man be a U. S. Senator (Rep) from MA.  (Jan 21, 2010 | post #33)

Coakley makes Pittsfield her final campaign stop

"for the first time in my life, I am proud to be from Massachusetts! " I jest here, but honestly, I am proud of the state of MA. what has happened here is good for MA and good for the whole of the country.  (Jan 19, 2010 | post #62)
