You should change your username to GlenTROLL. Really. (Nov 10, 2013 | post #18)
Thank God I don't have kids to worry about on Facebook & other social media sites! Some adults can't handle the responsibility of social media, either. So many couples have divorced over the actions of their spouse on FB. I've known quite a few personally, and as I write this, a co-worker of my girlfriend is going through a divorce because of her own actions on FB. I deleted my FB account twice...once about 2 years ago, and then once and for all about 1 1/2 years ago because of all the drama. I don't miss it one iota! (May 23, 2013 | post #3)
I see where the Milton Foodland has indeed changed to Piggly Wiggly. Still wondering if there are any others in WV? (Apr 23, 2013 | post #27)

There are no "same, exact feelings" in prison. No one enters a cell with semi-automatic weapons and starts shooting at random. The realization of a sentence of death and knowing your day and time of it should be torture enough. After all, no one is supposed to know that. Plus, save us all a little tax dollars in the process. (Apr 2, 2013 | post #12)
Death is too good for him, but I don't want MY tax dollars keeping his butt in jail the next 60 years, either. He's squirming now though. He wanted a plea deal to take the death penalty off the table. Props to the prosecutors who denied that request! (Apr 1, 2013 | post #3)
Yeah, next to a less than stellar produce section, the deli could use a little improvement as well. They recently put in a Chester's Chicken, which I though would be a good thing...you know, one more place to grab a quick bite on a busy day. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of fried chicken, but I like that they offer chicken livers on the menu...or do they? It seems like they always have an excuse why they can't make them. It seems like at least one employee wasn't aware they were even on the menu. I try to support local business, but it's getting harder and harder to convince myself to shop there...so, the bulk of my shopping needs are satisfied by either Sav-A-Lot (in town) or FoodFair in Barboursville (LOVE that store!). Try to avoid Wal-Mart if at all possible. Anyway, I hope the folks at Foodland can get their act together, or it sounds like they risk losing more customers than me (Apr 1, 2013 | post #22)
And you just come here to start sh*t and talk trash. I'd say that makes us about even. If everything is so wonderful and great in Milton, then why did you move to Ohio? (Mar 4, 2013 | post #11)
It's not so much the quantity of channels I'm concerned with. As far as movies go, I subscribe to Netflix. The thing that keeps me from switching (at this point) to satellite is prior experience (both with Dish & DirectTV) & the fact it will cost quite a bit more for high-speed internet. Right now I get 15Mb & the closest the satellite guys can get me is 12Mb for about $15 more than I pay now. Heavy rain, thunderstorms and moderate snowfall render satellite un-watchable as well. Shannon, see my post below. While I appreciate your offer, I still stand by my original satement... (Mar 4, 2013 | post #11)
Way ahead of you, on this at least. I did buy an LED HDTV & have a PS3 connected via HDMI cable. I already knew that the way cable compresses their HD signal reduces the resolution, although I didn't know by how much. I bit the bullet and upgraded to a Suddenlink HD box ($11.00 extra per month). Thinking seriously about purchasing an HD indoor antenna as I know the local stations broadcast in full 1080 HD. As far as the basic cable box goes, I was just a little perturbed that there wasn't an HDMI connection...not that I expected to receive an HD signal for free. Even a non-HD signal would have to allow a better picture quality feeding through an HDMI cable than a coaxial one! (Mar 4, 2013 | post #10)
This story is an old urban legend & has at least 3 variances I have personally heard. http://research.ud mercy.edu/find/spe cial_collections/d igital/cfa/index.p hp?field=keyword &term=CEMETERY (Mar 4, 2013 | post #21)
Whatever they decide to do, I hope it will result in a better, fresher produce section. There's really no excuse for having such a poor selection of fruits & vegetables. I'm not saying the variety is sorely lacking (which it kind of is), just saying they need to pull the stuff that's wilting & beginning to rot from being displayed. It really diminishes the whole store. I happened to be in the Barboursville area about a month or so ago. Drove to the Red Box at Food Fair to pick up a movie and ran in to grab a few movie snacks. Now there's a place that showcases what an independent grocery store has the potential to be! I hope that when Foodland makes the switch, it comes with a sorely needed renovation. It's pretty sad when one can say that Sav A Lot is the nicest, cleanest grocery store town. (Mar 1, 2013 | post #7)
Well, being as there are no PW's in WV, I'd have to call BS on that rumor... (Feb 27, 2013 | post #5)
Evolution does not state "everything gets better". The Theory of Evolution merely suggests life evolves into a better adapted version of the original. You seem to be intelligent enough, so I'll spare you the litany. You know, I create order from chaos nearly every day. Every time I put water in an ice tray, and put that tray in the freezer, in no time at all it turns into ice. I know, lame point. The real point is, you have the audacity to claim there is order orchestrated by some supernatural entity but omit what order of which you speak. Order in the Universe? Nah, you couldn't mean that because the Universe is a violent, ever changing one, full of chaos. If you mean order here on planet Earth, there IS intelligence behind it, and it's not of supernatural origin. Doesn't take an Einstein to conclude certain things. (Feb 20, 2013 | post #79)
