Is there really a program that provides cell phones

Obama didn't start the Lifeline Program. It was started under President Ronald Reagan. Obama just included the cell phones. Your phones will be turned off shortly, if you have more than one, as there are audits being performed now, and any person who has more than 1 at an address is subject to jailtime and fines.  (Apr 25, 2012 | post #16)

low income cell phone program

All Lifeline providers offer 250 minutes. They all sell extra airtime. ReachOut Wireless offers UNLIMITED talk & text for only $26.50/mn. Safelink and Assurance are VERY high considering the limited minutes they offer at such a high price.  (Apr 25, 2012 | post #47)

Cell Phone Program for disabled veterans, senior citizens...

It may be due to the geographical terrain of your area. Just like other cell phone providers, it may not work very well, if at all, in your area. Are there any cell phone companies that work in your area?  (Apr 25, 2012 | post #3)

low income cell phone program

It doesn't pay for the cable, but does provide a discount yes. I understand your frustration, but our company works with the elderly, disabled veterans, enlisted soldiers, and such ones, to provide them with a benefit that is available, and they can qualify for. These programs are not just for those who abuse the system, which I admit does happen. A new recruit, if married, qualifies for assistance when they enlist. That is food for thought.  (Apr 25, 2012 | post #42)
