Hendricks commissioner disputes consolidation plan

Who do you think will do all these jobs if all these positions are eliminated? Somebody will be hired to be the accountant, the treasurer, the assessor, the auditor, and the legislative/admini strative body. Private individuals will want more money, I guarantee. Also, a single elected executive will essentially be a duke of the county. King over all he surveys. There will be no discussion about policy, just a referendum every four years. His buddies will get the best positions and the best pay. He will make the land use decisions and he will be the Pope whose ring you must kiss to get anything done. It reeks of corruption. I cannot possibly see how it saves any money, ever.  (Jan 29, 2008 | post #24)

Turmoil surrounds Avon town building

Bottom line: Avon has a building it can't use. Who's going to make it right and how much is the litigation going to cost taxpayers?  (Jan 19, 2008 | post #34)

Restoring a piece of history

Holy Cow! That's not very thoughtful RandyB. People appreciate trails and restoring historic sites that give a place a sense of history. Danville is one of the oldest towns in Hendricks County. Officials would like to attract people to live here to increase the tax base and reduce your taxes. It will be a good thing in a few years.  (Jan 12, 2008 | post #5)

Plainfield plans for mega-sized industrial building

A big building, yes, but not a lot of jobs. Article states that 180 are coming away from Indy and another 48 will be created. Whoop-de-doo.  (Jan 9, 2008 | post #8)

93.9 to turn from talk to Christmas

I tuned in yesterday and found that now 93.9 WWTF is now playing only two, wretched instrumental tunes. They keep talking about the new station that is coming Jan. 2. I really hope the trick will bite them in the behind. It is absolutely horrible!  (Dec 26, 2007 | post #134)

93.9 to turn from talk to Christmas

WWFT has suffered from an identity crisis for several months. IS it a conservative Talk station? or a Sports Talk Station? Good to see that Wheat is on the job. He will make that station tow the line or whip it into shape. 80s Music? Are you for real? Haven't you already purchased all those lame albums? Let's turn it into Great Speeches of the 20th Century 24 hours a day.  (Oct 31, 2007 | post #12)

Argument led to brother-in-law's shooting

Not just ANY trailer park, but the Sti-Bell Trailer Park, where home is just between Stilesville and Belleville. Doublewides start at $555.95. This leaves you plenty of cash to purchase buckshot and rid your property of pesky in-laws.  (Oct 22, 2007 | post #22)

Fishers tries to block Geist towns

This is kind of funny. I thought there was a state law that allowed residents to resist annexation with a 60 percent of area population signing against it. Isn't that true! Now you've got lawyers involved and it will never be over!  (Oct 18, 2007 | post #16)
