Store pulls plug

Is anyone surprised by this news? Hopefully some retailer will be able to fill the huge empty space.  (May 1, 2009 | post #2)

Ask right people about heroin abuse

I agree that the article a few weeks ago did not cover all sides of the story. It is very unlikely that the students involved in student council really know what ALL the students at the school do on their personal time. They probably only know what goes on in their own circle, which probably doesn't involve heroin use, but then again who really knows? The faces of heroin use can be surprising.  (Apr 29, 2009 | post #3)

Victim back on his feet

Thanks for the update. I drive past the house almost everday and wonder how Carl and his family are doing. I wish them the best.  (Apr 27, 2009 | post #6)

Charges filed in wreck

Not that it's the issue at hand but once you are a father (or mother for that matter) you really can't reconsider it. Perhaps the better suggestion to this man is to reevaluate his actions. But for some reason I don't think he really was or is concerned with that. Hopefully the child has a good mother because Daddy may be going away from a while.  (Apr 23, 2009 | post #12)

Up Next: The scoop on fun

Great place to get ice cream but they need to work on the efficiency of their process. We went there two Saturdays ago. We waited five minutes in line behind one other couple then it took nearly 10 minutes until we got our order for three people and we didn't order three banana splits! Went there this past Saturday, saw two "mile long lines" and kept driving. At the rate of the week before we would've stood there an hour. We got our ice cream elsewhere.  (Apr 20, 2009 | post #3)

Stop nets heroin, gun

One more down in the fight against this epidemic. Great job Sgt. Ramsburg!  (Apr 18, 2009 | post #13)

Snowplow driver fined $25

The PA Dept. of Transportation paid for the repairs or in other words taxpayers paid for the repairs, and the driver got a $25 fine. Great.  (Apr 13, 2009 | post #4)

Teacher resigns amidst child-porn investigation

How can you even say that? If this man chose to do what the police allege, he is not a good person. I'm not buying your ignorant excuse.  (Apr 9, 2009 | post #37)

Weis store getting a makeover

I'm glad the company decided to renovate instead of building a new store in another location. That's one less empty building I'll have to drive by.  (Apr 6, 2009 | post #4)

Sexual assault alleged

Too bad this sicko's letter of apology to his victim isn't going to erase what he did to her. My heart breaks for the little girl. I commend her for being brave enough to tell her story. Hopefully this animal will get what he deserves in prison.  (Apr 3, 2009 | post #7)

What gain from ignorant posts?

Windi you're a hypocrit! You wrote your opinion and this is mine. You're letter only focused on what you view as negative and/or false comments. You can't forget the many comments that are posted defending someone accused of something or even commending someone for a job well done. People are entitled to their opinion and while you accuse some of not knowing the whole story just maybe you're the one who doesn't know the whole story. The forum often shows people both sides of a story, which I think is a great service to offer when so many people can be close minded and quick to jump to a conclusion.  (Apr 3, 2009 | post #7)

Speeding complaint leads to declaration alley is private

A sign and gate at the back of everyone's property is a bit extreme and unnecessary don't you think? A sign at each end of the alley and a little law enforcement (when they're in the area) may help the matter and go a long way with the residents. Not saying it's an end all be all, but at least there would be an effort, and most people appreciate that. The issue here is the township is not going to post the alley as private, they're going to still allow public use, and although not confirmed in the article, they may not maintain it. It's like Joe Schmo using your driveway (not alley) and expecting you to have it maintained and free of debris, snow, etc. for him. All I'm saying is, if the township isn't going to make an effort to post the alley as private then they should have to make the effort to maintain the publicly used alley. It seems quite simple really - either pay to post some signs or pay to maintain the alley. I wonder what they'll decided is better use of taxpayer money? I'd bet they choose neither and pick an even better way to spend tax payer money...litigation.  (Mar 26, 2009 | post #6)

Speeding complaint leads to declaration alley is private

" The alley is private property with a public right of way." If the township won't mark the alley as private and enforce it then I would expect them to maintain it.  (Mar 26, 2009 | post #3)

Beware of road rage at Rte. 116 intersection

This intersection is a game of chicken every time you go through it. Maybe if the opposing lanes were straight across from the other the situation would be a bit better. It is so unsafe I can't believe it operates as it does. I do all I can to avoid it and a potential accident. Something definitely needs to be done.  (Mar 25, 2009 | post #6)

Former car dealer charged with theft

Too bad the Sun didn't mention this. This business has some serious PR to do if they want to earn the public's trust.  (Mar 24, 2009 | post #29)
