It is quite possible that the deacon board is the pastors personal flunky commitee and will either not beleive her or protect and cover up the pastors mess. It sounds like the preacher is rotten.  (Dec 4, 2012 | post #3)

Jehovah's Witness

The importance of mens ministry is.....

The number of men in the church is disappointing compared to the numbers of women. We have to remember that the Apostle Paul said, " do not forsake assembling". What reasons do you think contribute to the dwindling number of men in the church? Here is a broadcast about it /3q3m6r6  (Aug 22, 2011 | post #1)

The Bible Altered, so its not God holy book.

You should really do some research on the canonization of the protestant bible versions. You should also do some research on William Tynsdale and King James and their motives for their translations before you make ignorant statements OP. You will find they were both trying to get the scripture in the hands of the people and expose the lies and doctrine of the Catholic church.  (Apr 13, 2011 | post #9)

Jehovah's Witness

How many followers have left the JW cult?

The JW's are constantly bragging about all the people they have converted to they're brand of Apostasy, however they fail to keep any data or provide any information on the droves of doubting believers who have left. I wonder why this is? Why haven't any of those comic books they print explored the issue? Could it be that the anonymous authors of the watch tower articles would be exposing the real truth behind the membership? There are numerous articles on the net from previous members who have left for all sort of reasons, but there is no data by the WTBS.  (Mar 15, 2011 | post #1)

Should a divorced man be a pastor?

i believe paul was speaking of polygamy as well as the divorced. If you recall in 1 tim 3, he also mentioned, if you cant manage your household, then how can you run the church? (my add-lib)  (Feb 10, 2011 | post #92)

Should a divorced man be a pastor?

just read 1 tim 3, the qualifications for a bishop are there, and man of one wife is listed.  (Feb 9, 2011 | post #87)

Should a divorced man be a pastor?

Agreed, the pastor is not guilty of anything, his wife is, and he is better off without her. He should be able to keep his ministry as long as he does not take a second wife. Some in the church are fine with a pastor having a church in adultery but i am not one of them. Remember the law of marriage refers to a person marrying another while the previous is still alive is an adulterer.  (Feb 9, 2011 | post #82)

Book of Bible stories, another WTS mistake

sally, you are correct, the cogic does have much literature for the congregation. The power living is the quarterly book that is used by all for sunday school. there is an issue for adults and for youth. Make no mistake about it, the bible is the only true and infallible literature recognized by the denomination. I cant defend the cogic higher ups because i know they are about money. The one great thing about this denomination is the pastor has the power to teach as he see's is correct. He, the Sheppard is solemnly responsible. the pastor has the power, not the higher up's. The book of bible stories has an anonymous author. No one is available to take the credit for the mistakes. the Sunday school material you mentioned has an author who writes the commentary and signs his articles with his signature. If a mistake is made we can question him about his theology. However, the Book of bible stories has its flaws and there is no author available to take credit for his blunder. The cogic has many flaws as well, but there is public accountability. I have never saw the witnesses ever answer any of the public criticism that has been pointed out on their literary and theological mistakes. I don't have a problem with secondary literature as much as i have a problem with literature with anonymous authors.  (Nov 26, 2009 | post #29)

Priest faces child abuse allegations

priests with allegations of child abuse, whats new? i have heard it before, but until the catholic parishioners stop putting money in the collection and demand a change, it is likely to continue. http://relijournal .com/christianity/ open-the-churchs-d irty-closet-from-t he-theologians-cor ner/  (Nov 23, 2009 | post #9)

Indiana church sign about Allah raises objections

radical people are dangerous, and it is not limited to Christians. Christians have an obligation to preach the truth, and as you know this truth 12 men turned the world upside down 2000 plus years ago and most still don't get it. I remember around 2005 or so, there was a radical racist running around the Midwest shooting people at random. The d.c. sniper was radical and was far from christian. your argument has holes in it.  (Nov 23, 2009 | post #7)

Questions for Christians

Your first question is very simple. Cain had 2 marry either one of his sisters or one of his nieces. This conclusion can be drawn by reading Genesis 5:3-4. When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died. We know that in 930 years of life, Adam made a lot of daughters for cane 2 choose from. There is also the possibility his wife could have been a niece, We do not know. my advice is to just read the bible and study the scriptures for the answers. I will let some one else answer your other questions.  (Nov 22, 2009 | post #2)

Book of Bible stories, another WTS mistake

How come you just cant read the Bible to your child? Why do you need secondary literature to teach the bible to your kid? It's a fair question.  (Nov 22, 2009 | post #14)
