Book of Bible stories, another WTS mistake
sally, you are correct, the cogic does have much literature for the congregation. The power living is the quarterly book that is used by all for sunday school. there is an issue for adults and for youth. Make no mistake about it, the bible is the only true and infallible literature recognized by the denomination. I cant defend the cogic higher ups because i know they are about money. The one great thing about this denomination is the pastor has the power to teach as he see's is correct. He, the Sheppard is solemnly responsible. the pastor has the power, not the higher up's. The book of bible stories has an anonymous author. No one is available to take the credit for the mistakes. the Sunday school material you mentioned has an author who writes the commentary and signs his articles with his signature. If a mistake is made we can question him about his theology. However, the Book of bible stories has its flaws and there is no author available to take credit for his blunder. The cogic has many flaws as well, but there is public accountability. I have never saw the witnesses ever answer any of the public criticism that has been pointed out on their literary and theological mistakes. I don't have a problem with secondary literature as much as i have a problem with literature with anonymous authors. (Thursday Nov 26 | post #29)
Priest faces child abuse allegations
priests with allegations of child abuse, whats new? i have heard it before, but until the catholic parishioners stop putting money in the collection and demand a change, it is likely to continue. http://relijournal .com/christianity/ open-the-churchs-d irty-closet-from-t he-theologians-cor ner/ (Monday Nov 23 | post #9)
Indiana church sign about Allah raises objections
radical people are dangerous, and it is not limited to Christians. Christians have an obligation to preach the truth, and as you know this truth 12 men turned the world upside down 2000 plus years ago and most still don't get it. I remember around 2005 or so, there was a radical racist running around the Midwest shooting people at random. The d.c. sniper was radical and was far from christian. your argument has holes in it. Your first question is very simple. Cain had 2 marry either one of his sisters or one of his nieces. This conclusion can be drawn by reading Genesis 5:3-4. When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died. We know that in 930 years of life, Adam made a lot of daughters for cane 2 choose from. There is also the possibility his wife could have been a niece, We do not know. my advice is to just read the bible and study the scriptures for the answers. I will let some one else answer your other questions. (Sunday Nov 22 | post #2)
Book of Bible stories, another WTS mistake
How come you just cant read the Bible to your child? Why do you need secondary literature to teach the bible to your kid? It's a fair question. (Sunday Nov 22 | post #14)
Book of Bible stories, another WTS mistake
When I was a child, my grandmother gave me a copy of " my book of bible stories." Just the other day, a friend of mine who is a wts cheerleader called me to make his argument against Christians using pagan symbols such as the cross and pictures of Jesus in their worship. He quoted exodus 20:3 to make his argument flawless, but as usual the wts always has printed mistakes floating around, so I preceded to make my defense. I do not believe the cross is a pagan symbol, and further more I just think it is a further attempt by the wts to make the church look bad, however, if they spent more time on their poorly prepared literature, they would have no time to point fingers at Christians. I went on to point out 2 screw ups in the book of book of bible stories 2 my friend. I recalled when I was a kid on page 101 there is a artist rendition of Jesus in agony. ( very traumatizing 4 a kid might i add). Why does exodus 20:3 only apply to Christians and not Jehovah's witness. They clearly teach no pictures of God in worship yet they have depicted Him in print. Of course my friends defense is reading a book is not worship, but when ever we study God's word it is a form of worship. The second screw up is when God placed a Cherub angel at the entrance of the garden to protect the second tree. They have an artist drawing of a cherub angel that resembles a man. Lets look at what revelation 4:6-8 has to say about cherubs. 6 Before the throne there was[e] a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: I wonder how the artist could screw up that drawing which can be found on page 3-4 in the book of bible stories. of course my friend said he would call me back, its been a week and i don't expect his elders at his kingdom hall had a good answer. I would like to see you watchtower cheerleaders deny this one........... (Nov 14, 2009 | post #1)

The new world translation is filled with poorly translated Greek. Not to mention there have been several American English versions that have been translated which are far superior. I guess the old farts back in bethel failed miserably with the Greek for dummies. Maybe if they could stay awake in the meetings before they cast votes, the WTS would not have so many blunders to their credit. The great thing about the New world translation is they have circulated so many, that we have plenty of printed evidence to expose the bad Greek translations. I have found many bad Greek interpretation in the area of synonyms to take the anointing away from the church and give credence to their organization. I have also found where they have purposeley changed john 1:1 to kill the trinity arguement, and then screwed up psalms 45:7. look at how it reads in the nkjv. You love righteousness and hate wickedness;Therefo re God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions. and the new world trans that is why God, your God has anointed you it should be known as the new world bad greek translations (Nov 9, 2009 | post #32)
Will Jehovah God Only save the 7 million JWs?
Is this the same 7 million who was suppose to be the 144000 they claimed would be saved 30 years ago? Oh brother, give me a break. The only thing you need to know about who God is going to save is Romans 10:9. Why not listen to what the bible says instead of what some poorly trained, secondary literature quoting pioneer says. How many pages have you torn out of the bible?
It amzes me how Christians tear pages out of the bible for thier own selfish reasons of disobedience. It is no wonder why it is so hard to get the un-churched to take heed to the gospel, because we wont follow it to the letter as best we can. When ever we hear somthing that will infringe on our sinful lifes, we try to discredit it, or deny it. I am amazed that in this day and time, paul's apostleship is still up for question amongst beleivers. I have heard numerous statements like, " paul said it, not jesus." What pages have you ripped out? We are all guilty at some point. http://tinyurl.com /yfa9jjf I read a stat the other day that only 13 % of all christians beleive the bible is true and infallible. The other 87 % of christendom is scary. (Oct 25, 2009 | post #1)
Should Homosexuals be accepted in the church?
Gundee, I believe Jesus was giving the rich man a lesson in being humble. If the man would have humbled himself, he could of become a disciple of Christ, but money was more important. Following Christ is what would have gotten him everlasting life, following is the key. The word follow is stated 77 times in the four gospels. Romans 10:9 and following Christ are synonymous, so it is exactly what Christ taught, smile. (Oct 21, 2009 | post #457)
Should Homosexuals be accepted in the church?
Gundee, last I checked, you had no heaven or hell to put any one in. Lets refrain from name calling and finger pointing, its juvenile. the prerequisites for salvation are located in Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Death burial and resurrection as i previously stated. Dont you recall they were first called Christians at Antioch. All of them believed what is stated in romans 10:9 (Oct 21, 2009 | post #455)
Should Homosexuals be accepted in the church?
Gundee, only the 19 and 20 percentile bracket of Christians you mentioned fit the definition of a christian. A christian believes in the death burial and resurrection and accepts Christ as his savior. the other three kinds of so called Christians a re hardly that. (Oct 21, 2009 | post #453)
Is it Biblical to drink alcohol?
you are right, we haven't discussed a thing because you are so fast to attack some one. You know nothing about me. But since you always are running your trap, let me fill you in. I pastor a pentecostal church with about 50 members.I have a b.a in theology and i am working on the next. I preach the word, I don't add to it, and I don't take from it. If you are ever in my neck of the woods, please stop by. Other than that, if you got some theological difference with me please make your point, other than that, keep your personal attacks on me to a minimal, because I have turned the other cheek, and I was not always a Christian.
