Sprinter wont crank when cold.

The Overnighter is a package consisting of our 12V fllter heater and your choice of Battery Brain. These can be found elsewhere on the site. By pairing these, you can leave the filter heater on "Overnight " and arrive to a warm filter after a cold night (insulate the R90T for best results). Allows fast switching to SVO, no more high vacuum and air leaks from switching too soon with a filter that is still just too cold! This item is not usually required until temperatures on in the teens Fahrenheit, if you have good liquid oil, but it can really improve switchover times and performance when temperatures plunge! If the battery voltage drops to 12.5V, the Battery Brain shuts off the heater automatically. With the Battery Brain III, you get a remote that allows you to turn the vehicle battery on/off from the house! With that version, you can use the Battery Brain as the heater controller, turning on the heater to pre-warm the filter for a while (1 hour min. suggested) before starting the engine. If you prefer a "hard wired" version, ask us to send the Battery Brain IV. Simple hard wired reset button on the dash! Your choice, same price! Not all bowls shipped with Vormax fllters and R90T filter elements have a 9/16" fitting. Unless you pull the small plug and confirm that the outside diameter of the threaded portion of plug is in fact 9/16" you either have to drill and tap the bowl (tap is a 9/16" x 18) or buy a new bowl from us the modified bowl comes with the Overnighter.  (Dec 24, 2007 | post #2)

Passenger Van Windows?

IMHO...If you're planning to pull the windows from a passenger Sprinter?...this is a negative operation!...Buy a window-less version, then have the venting windows installed by a competent 'Van Conversion Shop' http://www.sprinte raccessories.com/ For the windows!  (Nov 24, 2007 | post #2)

Rear Air conditioner - factory or aftermarket?

I installed a 13,500 BTU Coleman in my 158" WB, high roof Sprinter. I can run it while driving with my Yammy 2400 generator, which is hitch mounted in a cargo carrier box on the rear.  (Nov 20, 2007 | post #2)

Living in a Sprinter

Bad idea going with the low-roof version! Consider the high-roof with a hitch mounted bike rack...IMHO...It's the only way to go...:) If your reason for the low roof is strictly for garage access...IMHO...ba d reason!  (Nov 16, 2007 | post #2)

How much did your routine service cost?

Service Repair Tip Part Number: 05080029AA Part Description: Sprinter - Engine Oil, Oil Filter and Cap TSB Number: NONE When performing an oil change make sure to add the correct quantity of oil, which is 9.5 quarts (with filter replacement, which is required with every oil change). An underfilling, as well as overfilling may harm the engine or create driveability issues. The dipstick is designed to be used only with a "hot" engine and oil that has reached operating temperature (unless it is a cold engine dipstick with a yellow handle, which is available for certain fleets only). Furthermore, please keep in mind that the new oil is still 'cold' after it has been changed even though the engine may be hot. A Sprinter engine having an oil level at the maximum on the dipstick at 70F (oil temperature), will actually be 3/4 quart overfilled! However, an engine filled correctly with oil at the maximum shows, at 70F oil temperature, an oil level only at the midpoint of the dipstick. For proper measurement the engine needs to stand 5 minutes after running, which allows the oil to flow back from the engine into the oil pan. Furthermore the dipstick needs to be fully seated in the tube for at least two seconds before it is pulled out, since the handle pushes down the air and thereby the oil in the tube temporarily. Make sure the three o-rings are properly positioned before installing the filter assembly. Pay particular attention to the large upper o-ring, which has to be in the second groove (the widest) under the cap flange.  (Oct 16, 2007 | post #11)
