California companies fleeing the Golden State

Pearls before swine,,,, and hanging the bootlicker would be a waste of twine. The average American voter wants a union goverment job, gets turned on at a TSA probing, likes the taste of boot leather and would rat our their neighbour for a pat on the head. Working on being an ex-pat as I also reduce my draw time,  (Jul 18, 2011 | post #43)

I see CA as an semi-controlled experiment of your brand of socialism. I hope CA does not follow in Spain's or Greece's path, but economic indicators are not looking good. When Ca fails, I just hope that American socialists will wake up and realize that their ideals are false. Good luck cashing your stipened in '12,  (Jul 18, 2011 | post #41)

Motorcycle death rates in NM doubled over 10 years

Earning the lambasting of some of my friends...... Fat, forty and first bike owners most often end up with road rash or worse. The economic boom, that ended in '09, put people on two wheels that were first time riders. Granted, the average I.Q. of NM cage drivers is rather low, the driving force behind the scooter deaths are do to the lack of bug eating time of the scooter riders. Watch out for left turners, high schoolers and housewives that nare texting,  (Jul 18, 2011 | post #1)

I might have missed your implications, but to me it sounded that you had missed a huge life lesson..... That lesson being, 'where ever you go, there you are'. Good luck and remember that a persons' life, for the most part, is their own fualt.... Be it good or bad,  (Jul 17, 2011 | post #164)

Obama: My family is ‘fine’ with one term

I have to suffer the 'birthers', but don't forget that the Tuscon sociopath was one of your 'Truthers'. Keep enjoying your unearned government check,  (Jul 17, 2011 | post #170)

Obama: My family is ‘fine’ with one term

And with the 08' election, what has changed? Halliburton is still filling government contracts, The war in Afganastan has been expanded. We still have 50k troops in Iraq. Gitmo is still opened. The Constitution is still being stepped on, ie. Libya. If you loved Bush, you should also Love Obama. If you have any ehtics and hated Bush, you should also hate Obama. Enjoy your life as a pointless tool,  (Jul 17, 2011 | post #169)

LOL, it sounds like you work for a government branch and are also union on top of that. Only a tertiary, (service industry), hand would have the luxury of not being aware of how regulations, taxation and politics effect commerce. Since you do not fight entropy for a living, shut your hole and be thankfull for your handout,  (Jul 17, 2011 | post #36)

LOL...... you were not there... LOL Busing was struck down as being unConstitutional becuase it forced kids to leave the schools that their parents were able to afford them to attend. It was a feable push by socialists that got shut down. The only busing that took place in CA was from barrios, hoods and trailer parks. The only net gain that the socialists got out of busing was a more solidified prison gang culture. Bummer, the socialists blanked things up again. LOL There was no white flight in the 70's, that took place in the '40's, when the war effort needed workers. White flight might have took place in Oakland, Compton, Watts ect. It was not the true white flight that took place in Atlanta and Detriot, it was more of an economic migration and not a race based migration that your community collge teacher lied to you about. The housing equity thing only applies to retirees and did not come into play until the late 80's. Retired baby boomers bailed out to the sun belt. Yet agian, you view of current events and warping of historical facts are the only thing that keeps your world view alive. Read some history and monitor all of the news,  (Jul 17, 2011 | post #35)

Brown was before Regan, CARB was after Brown. Granted he did lay the ground work for Carb. Brown also drove out secondary industries from socal becuase he put the cart in front of the horse. He legislated a call for non existing technology. The socialists pig is doing the same thing now by ruling that all utilities must provide 10 percent of their energy from the fairy tail renewables. The same renewables that smelly hippies and trial lawyers are blocking. CA is something that we must all watch. Regardless of Ca's resources, talented workforce and tie to the Pacific Rim, socialism will kill it. (Western Greece. LOL) Move back across the sage brush curtian please or grow a sack,  (Jul 17, 2011 | post #34)

Nope, I just look at current events and history..... Colorado recovered in the late 80's by droping their tax rates, offshore banking is atractive because it is a way to shelter earnings from taxes and manufacturing is exporting jobs becuase of; union wage inflation over-regulation and high taxes. The price of the crack, that you must be smoking, is a prime example of how taxes and regulations effect the market price of goods and services. Dear Shiva man, look at Spain's failed green economy, Greece's failed welfare state and the rest of the old world's bankrupt command economies. May Allah bless you when your emotional based, socialistic world view finally fails you, Post script - Hitler lured his democratic voters down a dark road by having them commit atrocities. The American progressives have learned a lesson from Hitler and just have the voting socialists commit acts of stupidity.  (Jul 17, 2011 | post #33)

Your rambling proved that Brown was a mistake back then and is a mistake now. If you are a typical Brown lover, then CA is doomed by tranny throught democracy. LOL Guess what, people that have the funds and or do something for a living, will bail out of socialistic states. 5 companies a day are leaving CA as you wet your panties. Good luck finding someone to tax fto fund your wellfare check,  (Jul 12, 2011 | post #15)

Bailed out in 1994. Even though I still miss the surf, I can not ethically expose my kids to socialism. Gotta love how CARB inflated pollution tests 370% and forced low sulphur desiel down or necks. Cycling rounds for practice,  (Jul 12, 2011 | post #14)

Dinning in the 4 Corners

Easy there Newbie, This area has been a boom and bust economic basin since the Clovis hunters in 10k BC. More people lived in the four corners in 1200 AD then live here now. This area, being a 12k year old boom and bust basin has made it very transitionial. Leaving ancient history behind, just look at at the past 150 years.... The Utes and Navajo lived here, then they were displaced with the discovery of gold and silver. Anglos moved in with their wheel, representative democracy and scientific method and displaced the local tribes. Minning faded out, (Bust) and farming took over, (Boom). Farming faded out becuase of the Owens Valley water project in CA, and then Hydrocarbons took off. The discovery of hydrocarbons started the boom bust cycle that has been repeated many times since the 1930's. I will also mention ranching as a minor, but consistant, econmic factor thru the years. (Ranching is a minor factor becuase any critter that needs 100 acres per unit is nothing more then a traditional novelty.) Now we come to the Basin's present extraction based economy. The boom and bust cycle has created enclaves of nice subdivisions ringed by trailer parks. What might be worse then that to you, is the lack of trained neuvo rich or old money. This area has some neuvo rich, but they are more likley to spend their money on having a family reunion at a NASCAR event. Yes! As far as culture goes, this area is rolling in it. It might not be the exploitable culture that you are used to, but it roots run deep. If you can look beyond your myopic world view, look at the history of this area. Regardless of it's boom and bust cycle, this basin has done well and created a core multicultural population that is self sustianable. I hope that you can leave your pre-judgemental flatlander views behind and slowly start to offer this area some good food. Enjoy,  (Jul 12, 2011 | post #143)
