wat about josh henderson

Let me just say, I have a HUGE grudge against him for various reasons, and even his friends admit he is one of the biggest liars you will ever meet, he may have changed but last I checked he was an asshole, I've never heard of him doing drugs though.  (Aug 4, 2012 | post #36)

Thank you, its not that tracking an IP is hard, anyone can track an IP, I can track an IP but when you try to find one that is on a server or you have no connection to it is quite impossible, like in an email you can find the senders IP but without knowledge of where to go it is useless and is still useless unless you know people. Or are in Anonymous or LulzSec.  (Aug 4, 2012 | post #49)

Ok you got me, under the right circumstances tracing an IP to a person or group can be done, but as you saw it took quite a long time, and id assume costed quite a bit. The problem here is it said they had a list of "178 pseudonyms used to post what they considered the most defamatory messages", over 70 threads, and 25000 comments. Compare the numbers to this one, 1 thread, presumably under 20 comments. Here is the underlying problem in tracing it they had 178 personas to check, unless any who saw the thread about Jaclyn remembers the name of the personas on the thread, then you have nothing to go by, meaning there's nothing to give to the police. At the moment, unless any one remembers the names, the one(s) to blame is whoever payed $20 to have the thread removed, because all the names went down with that thread, and there isnt one court that will spend that much time, on a dead lead, to find possibly one delinquent.  (Aug 4, 2012 | post #48)

It will NOT be found, here is why, #1 if law enforcement were competent enough to trace an IP I should be in jail, #2 If Topix did miraculously find the IP then police would be required to have a court order before Topix would relinquish the IP holders identity (IF they even have it), #3 Topix does not require signing up to post so its very likely they dont have the posters IP (unless they were stupid enough to sign up and gloat about it, then they deserve to be found), #4 This is MORGANTOWN, one girl committing suicide is not going to bring in the CIA or someone competent enough to trace an untraceable IP, the best any person can do is ping Topix (No one is getting at those servers without a court order), #5 Even for law enforcement hacking or accessing a server is easier said then done (I know hackers that can barely do it), #6 Whoever jugded my post as "Nuts" Thank You it can be very amusing sometimes. And show me one ONE report of someone being traced through Topix then I will believe it possible.  (Aug 3, 2012 | post #42)

I don't believe you are aware of how IPs work. Their are millions of people who use this site, hence there are millions of IP address's that visit here during the course of a day, you will NOT find it, especially since the post was removed, that only made it harder. Who ever wrote whatever it was, they didn't force her to kill herself, she did it on her own free will (could have been for attention I don't know, if it was well, hard to revel in it when your dead), she is to blame no one else. I give no pity for those who take the easy way out, regardless of circumstances.  (Aug 3, 2012 | post #39)
