Meteorite fragment stolen from museum

My 7 year old son is positive he found the missing meteorite on his school playground yesterday! My husband and I sure do think it resembles a chuck of asphalt, though!  (Mar 13, 2008 | post #10)

For some, Leap Day is a celebration

I think it's fun to make a big deal out of Leap Day! Growing up, I had a friend who's mom was a "leapie" and I thought it was cool that she was the same age as us - 7!!! My preschool kids are celebrating Leap Year tomorrow with a popcorn party!!! They don't understand it all, but hey, they get popcorn because of it!!!  (Feb 28, 2008 | post #9)

School dance raises money for grave marker

Obviously, you haven't had to plan a funeral lately. Do you have any idea the amount of money involved? A simple cremation can be done for around $1300. A funeral on average (depending on whether or not the body is embalmed) can run $4000 or $5000. Then you've got the cemetary charges on top of that, then the cost of a tombstone on top of that. Maybe the large tax check you're referring to needed to go toward other unexpected expenses. Frankly, I don't think that's anyone's business! It's not that uncommon to not have a tombstone right away. I think it's a wonderful thing these kids are doing and they will look back on this and be proud of what they were able to do for their fallen friend.  (Feb 14, 2008 | post #41)

Prosecutors file murder charges in 8-year-old's death

So what's your point? Your comment is very rude and disrespectful to the victim's family.  (Feb 13, 2008 | post #24)

Boy, 10, charged with setting $500,000 fire

Ok, setting your toy soldiers on fire doesn't even compare to starting a fire with $500,000 worth of damages and displacing people from there homes.  (Feb 12, 2008 | post #39)

Boy, 10, charged with setting $500,000 fire

Negangard says there's no evidence the boy intended to start such a large fire. Yeah, I'm sure he was just aimin' for $250,000.  (Feb 12, 2008 | post #38)
