That shop is already open and openly advertising. I thought RT said no to him changing the use of the house he's using for a shop from R to C. (Saturday Dec 19 | post #15)
Anybody know why verizon FIOS is still not available in certain areas?
Verizon FIOS costs more, has worse customer service than Comcast, and has set people's houses ablaze. (Saturday Dec 19 | post #6)
Gregory's Seafood Building Sold?
The freestanding neon Gregory's Seafood sign is gone and the signs on the building are gone, too. Likewise, the realtor's For Sale sign is gone, but it never said SOLD as far as I know. So... did someone buy the property? Anyone know for what? (Saturday Dec 19 | post #1)
I heard that the changes were made to escape their creditors. (Thursday Dec 17 | post #21)
The Wagon Wheel is a responsible establishment. Mistakes are made by everyone. Often there are heavy consequences... a law was broken, a minor was served, and that minor killed someone as a result (as least partially) of that law being broken and a minor getting drunk and driving. Again, the Wagon Wheel, as an establishment, is run responsibly, in my opinion. The Wagon Wheel is also "responsible " for the actions of its staff and must answer to the repercussions of their burden of responsibility. (Saturday Dec 12 | post #13)
Quakertown Holds Line on "Taxes," but Hikes Water, Sewer, Elect...
As was discussed in another thread, are these other increases "taxes?" My impression, according to the definition of "tax," is yes. Unpleasant tax increases? Indeed. Unwarranted tax increases? Probably not. (Saturday Dec 12 | post #1)
This neighborhood is full of Criminals
Nobody actually knows how many are in there... they move around too much. (Thursday Dec 10 | post #13)
REMODELING for a restaurant is another word for "Kiss of Death." As for that location not ever being successful, I think something will move in there and make a good go of it.... Who wants to bet it'll be Mexican? (Thursday Dec 10 | post #15)
ILuvBucks: Now get serious... not EVERYTHING from Olive Garden and Applebees comes out of a can... some of it comes out of plastic bags, too. :^) I have eaten at both Mexican restaurants downtown... and I'll have to be honest here... Mexicans do make the best Mexican food... and you'll find that food downtown! Oh, and the friendly service is uncanny as well. (Sunday Dec 6 | post #15)
Ask and ye shall receive. or one of my favorite quotes... "You get 100% of what you don't ask for." I applaud Dave, John, and the others that take their time to help others by 'asking' for their community's help so that they may help those in our community who are less fortunate. If you feel so "strapped " that you can't afford to donate a $5.00 gift card to brighten a child's holidays, then get off your ass and offer your time to help with the cause, or another cause. That will cost you nothing in the pocketbook, but you will truly realize a return on investment of your own. Wake up. (Saturday Dec 5 | post #17)
Isn't it interesting that there is such heavy criticism of downtown Quakertown and the ability to own and operate a business there. Yet, it appears that someone is able to make it work, and quite well, both financially as as a community. So these folks with a different cultural flavor can do it. The question for those that say they cannot make a go of it downtown then is, "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?" (Saturday Dec 5 | post #11)
Staples Moving to Target Shopping Center
The COMING SOON signs are up. Staples is moving out of Trainer's Station Shopping Center in Quakertown Borough and up the road to Richland Marketplace, home of Target, BJ's, and Petsmart. The new Staples store will occupy at least the space of three store fronts next to the Hallmark store. An opening date is not yet known. In this era of "on demand movies," DVDs by mail, and downloadable video content, there has also been speculation that the Blockbuster store located at the opposite end of Trainer's Station will likely locate to smaller quarters in a different location as well. Tobin has art in lots of prominent locations around. It's pretty cool inside, too. He does this crazy stuff with blocks of clay and explosives... pretty interesting stuff. (Friday Dec 4 | post #5)
