What Are the Causes of Water Heater Element Corrosion?

Hello all, When a water heater stops producing hot water, the first thing that usually goes bad is the heater elements. The elements are eaten away by the corrosive effects of the dissolved minerals and chemicals in city water. So, by understanding the exact chemical reactions that take place, I want to understand why the elements corrode to the point of becoming ineffective. Any idea on it, please suggest me. Thanks a lot! What Is the Effect of Hydrogen on a Natural Gas Boiler?

Hello Guys, Natural gas boilers convert natural gas to heat energy. Adding hydrogen to natural gas can reduce the CO2 emissions and other pollutants boilers release into the atmosphere; however, in general, hydrogen interferes with the efficiency of the boiler because it converts to water vapor and hydrogen chloride upon combustion. I want some more view about the effect of hydrogen on a natural gas boiler. Any idea much appreciated. Thanks a lot! Harry Potterish  (Oct 30, 2012 | post #1)

Every material has its own heat transfer coefficient, which can be looked up in numerous sources, like the "CRC Chemistry and Physics Handbook" or most thermodynamics books. An individual material's coefficient cannot be easily estimated; however, it also is seldom used. But, I am still in confused that how to estimate heat transfer coefficients. So, anyone having idea on it, then please help me. Thanks a lot! Harry Potterish  (Oct 15, 2012 | post #1)
