High school senior arrested, charged with child molesting

The boy should be punished, but his life shouldn't be ruined by serving 40 years in prison. This kid would come out of prison at around 60-65 years old, likely not being a productive member of society and a drain on the welfare system.  (Dec 1, 2007 | post #47)

Building a concert hall: Carmel's big dig begins

So true. Republicans these days just don't get it anymore. Republicans local, state and federal have seem to have forgotten what government is for and not for.  (Dec 1, 2007 | post #18)

Gas station gunman was serving suspended sentence

Why don't we know what judge or prosecutor was responsible for this unstable guy being on his own?  (Dec 1, 2007 | post #59)

Carmel art museum plan scrapped

Guess the Dems were right about Evan Lurie. A $100k governemnt salary and the guy or Carmel doesn't have anything to show for it. Lurie couldn't even sell MiCo on his own building mostly bought by the City. Should be an interesting next 4 years under Brainard.  (Nov 15, 2007 | post #4)

Pair collect absentee ballots from ill, injured

You're right, because he lives in Hamilton County, not Marion. Nice try.  (Nov 4, 2007 | post #2)

Groundbreaking set for Carmel theater

This is Carmel, Indiana people. How can a reasonable person look at these projects and not think that this scale of development is not ridiculous? Any day now I'm expecting an announcement from the city that an EPCOT Center is being built off Hwy 31.  (Mar 9, 2007 | post #7)

Carmel annexation could ride on 2005 deal

Controversy swirls over drive-throughs

No problem. There have been questions to the legality of electing Town Council positions at-large, even though they have districts. The Town and their attorney's have not been able to provide any IC citation or proper town ordinance that backs them up. Electing at-large gives them a big advantage in staying in office and keeping out minority party candidates.  (Mar 8, 2007 | post #34)

Annexation bid in hands of justices

The city will have to remove their "no taxes raised" bullet point from their talking points sooner than they thought if the City loses this case.  (Mar 8, 2007 | post #33)

Your Letters

Great points. I only wish that voters in this county would realize that this is a Republican ideology (pro-extreme growth) that is expressed by the majority of municipal governments in Hamilton County. Sure there are opponents in the GOP primary that are taking maybe more moderate stands on growth and urbanization, but they will lose to the incumbents due to their overwhelming finances and influential backing of developers. I'm afraid whether these opponents like it or not, the only way they will get their message out is by running as political party opposition (running as an Independent, Democrat, or Libertarian).  (Mar 7, 2007 | post #7)

Controversy swirls over drive-throughs

I understand where you are coming from, but you are wrong. All of the Town Council members are elected at-large. Just check their website if you don't beleive me: http://www.fishers Most people aren't aware of this because there hasn't been an election for the town of Fishers in years. The use of districts are of no significance other than the council member must live in the district they are running under.  (Mar 5, 2007 | post #24)

Candidate sees Carmel's political landscape shift

The two-party system is still alive in Marion County, so long as the Marion County GOP doesn't give up. Besides a jump in crime (which is happening to all Midwest cities its size), what is going so wrong in Indy?  (Mar 5, 2007 | post #93)
