Are you happy with the things Mayor Soto's has been doing...

I've been at the fest the last several years and never once did I see the Fire Department. The roads were passable should an emergency vehicle had needed to get through. The ponies last year looked like they needed a nap, they were so tired looking. The funnel cakes started at 5 bucks, so I didn't see an issue with that. And I thought the band that played early was awesome....great mix of music for everyone there. I also noticed those running the fest and Soto there through the entire event. And what garbage? I thought the park looked good throughout the day...most people were very respectful of the property and were using the garbage cans. Not sure who pissed in your Cheerios, concerned, but the fest was fun. Go to Great America next year if you want your kids pacified by big rides and big funnel cakes. What I saw yesterday were kids running around and having FUN with each other. I saw families spending time together without spending a ton of money. I saw a community who is usually ripping each other apart (like this message board does) come together for one day and enjoy each other's company. Enough said.  (Aug 28, 2011 | post #244)

I feel so very sorry for you, concerned. I'm sorry you are so miserable! I'm surprised you haven't up and moved yet...you're not happy with anything! I saw dozens of children running around and playing well past 4pm (I guess all kids don't need to be placated with blow up toys to have fun). And as for food, I had an excellent cheeseburger and later on a grilled cheese with mushrooms and onions! There were also funnel cakes and ice cream, large cookies and another vendor selling candy. And the prices were cheap! As for the wine and beer, I didn't think it was any more or any less than previous years. As a matter of fact, there seemed to be more vendors this year than in previous years, and more people showed up. Get out of Hainesville, concerned, if you're so unhappy! Glad I didn't run into you today, you would have ruined my good time!  (Aug 27, 2011 | post #238)

Government Watch Dog, is there anything you like about living in Hainesville? If I were as miserable as you I would have to leave.  (Aug 18, 2010 | post #22)

How does one find out who has paid their taxes and who hasn't? I have a few neighbors I'd like to check out.  (Aug 11, 2010 | post #18)

Beautification of the village

At the last meeting it was discussed that they were reviewing quotes. Hainesville will pay for it.  (Jun 1, 2009 | post #9)

Beautification of the village

I believe an outside audit of the budget and finances are being done. Give them a break...that trustee has been on the board, what, a month? And already has done more than many that sat on the board for years.  (May 29, 2009 | post #7)

Beautification of the village

Did you attend the meeting last night? The majority of the funding was donated through Home Depot gift cards and volunteers. I highly suggest before throwing comments out that you actually attend the meetings. Also, I'm not sure where you're getting your facts from, but the village is not "in bad shape" with the budget. Again, attend the meetings...you may be surprised with the information given at them.  (May 29, 2009 | post #4)

Beautification of the village

Maybe residents will start to appreciate their town instead of dumping on it. I think the massive beautification and cleanup projects are a great idea.  (May 28, 2009 | post #2)

Congrats Linda and the 3-Ds! The village has spoken and has voted for change.  (Apr 7, 2009 | post #15)

Hainesville election

That's not possible. You can't find out who voted for a specific candidate.  (Mar 20, 2009 | post #7)
