Kiwi men are Hotter Than Australian men?....
In that case, 'real kiwi' males are a sorry looking lot indeed.... (2 hrs ago | post #23)
Maybe so, but nicely articulated nonetheless.... (Yesterday | post #2292)
$500m for Auckland's electric trains
Not so sure Bill. Us kiwis love our cars. And if they don't have adequate facilities at suburban depots, uptake WILL be poor. Besides, do some quick calculations and you'll see that just servicing the 1.6bn is a monumental ask. I've been wrong before, but I just can't see this paying it's way. (Thursday Dec 3 | post #5)
Notorious offender found dead in prison
Michael Laws had a great idea on the radio today.... Every prison should be outfitted with several 'out' bays, for those who want out. "Here's your glass of water, and all you need is just this one little pill...." Possibly a bit better than some deserve, but could be a real time and money saver! (Monday Nov 30 | post #5)
Sorry to burst your bubble Ray, but Dezzy is further from the 'average New Zealander' than us 'rednecks'! Eh, Dezzy? By the way, welcome back Dezzy....where have you been? (Monday Nov 30 | post #150)
NZ ugly and full of fat people: book
But comparatively speaking, we ARE a rather unkempt, unattractive bunch....and I've certainly noticed a marked increase in obesity. By admission, even my own gut's starting to stick out further than before. Shamu, Shamu.... (Sunday Nov 29 | post #268)
Icebergs ahead, look out New Zealand!
Be okay if they dumped it in Canberra though, wouldn't it? If not, they can send it down to Wellington and store it under the Beehive. (Sunday Nov 29 | post #39)
Icebergs ahead, look out New Zealand!
No more 'Happy Feet' movies....??? (Saturday Nov 28 | post #35)
I'm probably the wrong guy to be talking union or league, not being a huge follower. But yes, league has enjoyed increasing popularity, over the last 10 -15 years I guess. Just a pity the Warriors keep choking when it most counts. Typical, even in union. Not sure if this is exclusively a NZ thing, but we get ourselves all hyped as if we've already won the game. And then when the crunch comes...FAIL. (Saturday Nov 28 | post #143)
It's all good. Been an interesting post, though. Seems unless you actually live somewhere, you really can't know the full story. Even living in a country, it appears many people are prone to differing views of historical events, distorting facts to suit their own beliefs. And there's a general lack of application of common sense.... Cheers for the rugby congrats. The AB's need quite a bit more than that to restore the public following for NZ rugby though, I have to say. (Saturday Nov 28 | post #141)
Yeah, but I hear them getting frantic as a couple of people have managed to escape. Infosharing and Aussiejohn, I believe. I've excluded you Ray as at least you ain't been accusing me of saying stuff I never said! And I think they ARE in for sniffing that Jenkem. (didn't need to look it up, by the way PC) (Saturday Nov 28 | post #139)
I said nothing of the sort. On Nov. 26th or any other time. Get your facts right! (Saturday Nov 28 | post #138)
What the hell are you on about? Show me where I said anything about North America being more advanced....about the only thing you got right is that I'm a white guy (not so much of the nice, please). And yes I can afford my own health care. Pretty much anyone can in New Zealand. Shit I think everyone on this thread is on drugs. (Saturday Nov 28 | post #126)
Icebergs ahead, look out New Zealand!
Back to the icebergs. I sure hope neither DeCaprio nor Winslett is planning on a cruise down this way anytime soon. God forbid there's a Titanic II.... (Saturday Nov 28 | post #31)
Icebergs ahead, look out New Zealand!
What the hell do car accidents have to do with the safety of nuclear power? In the context of the discussion you can only really compare the safety of alternative forms of power generation. I have no idea how many people have died at hydro, wind, or coal fired plants worldwide. But it's pretty safe to assume the risk to human safety is indeed higher for a nuclear plant. Still, historically, the risk seems to have been proven relatively low. And given the cost effectiveness, and general 'cleanliness', nuclear would seem a more logical option....
