East Brunswick mayor wrong on DARE program

OK, you will have to excuse me but I have to get on my soapbox about D.A.R.E. If you have read my articles or stories before then you know where I stand on these kinds of issues but this one really merits a little more exposure because just like the story I did on where the Partnership For A Drug Free America gets its money, this one will probably take some people by surprise as well. For those of you who may not know D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education and as with many government sponsored programs it is a program long overdue for change or for elimination entirely as a school system on the East Coast of Florida is doing now. I know that some of you may be thinking, "is this guy out of his mind?" Far from it, bear with me and I promise that when I am finished sharing the information with you that you will be in agreement with me. First off, let me start by saying that this is in no way an afront to the members of law enforcement in any way whatsoever. As a matter of fact I have many friends in law enforcement including a few that have been involved in the D.A.R.E. program. This is ALL about facts, not hype, not political propaganda, just merely looking at what other independent studies say about the program. Ad Campaign Seeks to Fix Calif.'s Budget Mess with Mariju...

To all As you may have noticed I stopped addressing GAPatriot65 Why? To use some of his type of language, "I don't cast my pearls before swine" To have a reasonable and intelligent conversation one must have AT LEAST two reasonable and intelligent people. Since GAPatriot65 is neither, nor does he choose to support his propaganda BS with sources or links I choose not to participate in his racist, homophobic, draconian diatribe. GAPatriot65 , you may need a dictionary or thesaurus to figure some of this out. Teahupoo  (Jul 8, 2009 | post #60)

Oregon Government

Legalize It

The rest of the country could learn a lot from Oregon when it comes to dealing with the incredible Cannabis Sativa plant. They realize and understand the myriad of benefits of this diverse plant species and therefor do not demonize it as the rest of the U.S. does. There have been thousands of studies done touting the medicinal benefits of marijuana and the male gender of the plant cultivated as hemp has over 50,000 known uses. Wake up America, change IS coming and I can smell it. Teahupoo  (Jul 8, 2009 | post #1)

Stallworth tape details events before crash

There are multiple things that anger me about this case but I will stick to just two. #1 The media jumped all over the fact that Stallworth tested positive for cannabis and yet virtually downplayed his .12 BAC which is over 30% above the legal limit. #2 How the hell does this guy get off with 30 days after MURDERING someone with a motor vehicle while DRUNK and we have people serving YEARS for possession of an ounce of cannabis? Oh yeah, I forgot, it works like everything else in this country all the way up to Presidential Elections. Whoever has the money wins. Teahupoo  (Jul 8, 2009 | post #1)

Senate backs 700 miles of real fencing on border

I know that we need a solution to the illegal immigration issue but I don't like the fence idea. I am reminded of what Jesse Ventura said about it in an interview, "Every fence that is built to keep people out eventually becomes a fence to keep people in." Think about that. The lack of intelligence and absolute ignorance in some of these posts is amusing. No lack of propaganda believers here. "Loaded drivers" ? Better check out the NHTSA's own stats on that. Of the 7-10% of drivers involved in accidents testing positive for cannabis, 90% of those ALSO were above legal limit for alcohol. Around 40% of all Americans smoke regularly already, that's not going to change with decriminalization. Our prison populations have gone up over 70% since the start of the drug war in the 70s and we now incarcerate 25% of the world's prisoners with ONLY 5% of its population. "maj" is a TOTAL moron. ALL studies about Amsterdam and Portugal as well as Spain have shown positive benefits from their programs. The contention that people who like to smoke cannabis do so at work is as ludicrous as to suggest that the physician who likes his scotch does so while performing surgery. If you are going to make a comment at least make an intelligent one.  (Jul 8, 2009 | post #27)

"Harry Potter" Star Jamie Waylett Charged with Growing Ma...

It is amazing how the majority of the world views cannabis possession. This kid is looking at a possible 14 year prison sentence while Donte Stallworth convicted of DUI Manslaughter got 30 days. How can anyone call that justice? Teahupoo  (Jul 8, 2009 | post #1)
