China, Australia to Build Final Leg of Asian Railway

That's highly unlikely. You re merely having a nightmare. Of the worst kind.  (May 16, 2009 | post #10)

Chongqing excess? China's first sex park

Object based learning is supposed to enhance the all round learning effort. Perhaps not a bad idea at all. For the climax of this unique educational expedition, in keeping with the underlying idea, a mandatory in your face waterfall display is de rigueur. If anything it at least will pull in much Japanese tourist yen; they are very particular that way. A good time will be had by all.  (May 16, 2009 | post #2)

China, Australia to Build Final Leg of Asian Railway

That will take some mental juxtaposition; China the gateway to the world's outhouse. Will work no small wonder on the real estate value. Map reading is a neglected skill but mastery of which may certainly improve on one's outlook.  (May 16, 2009 | post #7)

I HATE CHINA (in response to "why do Westerners hate China")

Vely good. Refinement in disposition and habits is all very well but in the end is only as good as a sound recipe. For the food caterers, the corollary would suggest that a dynamic menu which accomodates changing time and preferences makes for a sustainable business model. And thats no half baked truth either.  (May 16, 2009 | post #417)

Dongguan removes prohibition on pole-dancing

Avant garde' indeed. No less an out of the box strategic expression to defy the distressing consequences of an ill conceived policy. Solidly based on the premise that all mortal beings eventually wind up in the ground, the ever wily Chinese have probably decided to fast track, or even skip the life cycle altogether to reach the endzone. Cut out the increasingly scarce middleperson, and no one get hurt. "Pregnant Earth" with Chinese characteristics.  (May 16, 2009 | post #11)

Federal Agents Arrest Alleged Spy Within Defense Department

Entirely possible. Political division is ultimately artificial; conflicted loyalties is natural for many Taiwanese who consider themselves also Chinese and a profit motive will go some way to removing remaining hesitation.  (May 14, 2009 | post #14)

Federal Agents Arrest Alleged Spy Within Defense Department

The name would seem to suggest that. Yet for that obvious distinction based on political reality, Taiwanese are that much favored by the PRC in deploying foreign agents. Some sort of false flag operation; the betrayer thinking no harm perhaps in helping out supposed allies.  (May 14, 2009 | post #12)

May well be that your bald assertion will bear out eventually. Modern china especially in the reform and opening up era has seen ever expanding range of opportunities availed of by women in many varied fields, as employees in government, state banks/enterprises, or she can own restaurant, works as real estate agent or runs the euphemistically named leisure center, or simply as plain KTV hostess. No lack of advancement/self enriching opportunities for the ingenious and success oriented in any given situation. However opportunity by its very nature predicates a measure of randomness. It perhaps comes down not so much to a willingness to cross the line as a fertile enough imagination to move that line to one's advantage.  (May 14, 2009 | post #17)

Shandong official dismissed for holidaying on national da...

Make him the head of the tourism bureau. His escapades has only demonstrated ingenuity and a joyous spirit in the face of solemnity and much adversity. Qualities that no doubt can blossom into efficiency in the proposed new postings. Embezzlement is in keeping with the nature of the tourism industry; a touch of larceny never hurt any.  (May 14, 2009 | post #1)

I HATE CHINA (in response to "why do Westerners hate China")

Perhaps we can approach it as a question of the intestinal fortitude of the Chinaman. Commercial exploitation of animals exhibits its unique methods as another poster here has mentioned. For the Chinese, the shortest route to a man's heart remains to be his stomach. There the criteria is one of taste and tenderness of the meat. The theory goes an induced release of adrenlain ensures a desired outcome. The dog which is the usual menu, will be strung up then beaten to within inches of its life. Important that it be kept alive while its skinned and eventually dipped into a vat of scalding hot oil. A well prepared meal brings much face to the host and will strengthen that all important Chinese social networking. Pitiful whimpering from a dying being mutilated beast destined for the Chinaman's alimentary tract is nary a credible test on the noted Chinaman's intestinal stamina. But instead may heighten expectation; a real drawer changer for many a Chinese wokmaster. Yes madam, the Chinese have the stomach for this and much worse.  (May 14, 2009 | post #409)

Dongguan removes prohibition on pole-dancing

Kleenex is still some sort of luxury that the majority of Chinese don't believe in. No the wad will go where their spit go. Be sure and don't get downstream of the Chinese when it happens.  (May 12, 2009 | post #5)

Context is everything. That wide expanse of area peripheral to any given point bears careful scrutiny lest one swayed by preset notions comes almost reflectively to the wrong conclusion. A proper understanding of relevant context is essential to formulation of the valid, as opposed to merely facile point of argument. Often the path to ruins is embarked upon by the self conceited, cynical and ambitious, aided and abetted by the pervading social/economic/ political conditions. Our wanton heroine epitomizes her time perfectly. The POINT is shaped by a materialistic society that tends to reward success arrived at at any cost, she consciously chose to leech onto important party cadres as vehicle to ride to riches and glory. THAT being a media personality or part of a loosely defined press is purely incidental to the unfolding of the events.  (May 12, 2009 | post #15)

China to Unveil Nuclear Submarines

The peculiar diet of the Chinese demands no less. Zoo management is tedious dirty works, only the Chinese have the appetite for it.  (May 11, 2009 | post #29)

BEIJING/GUANGZHOU/SHANGHAI: China lifts quarantine after ...

From what, claustrophobia or disrupted schedule. It's hoped at least the hotel bills are covered by the quarantine authority.:)  (May 11, 2009 | post #2)
