Moving from West Coast to East Coast

Hi, I'm planning on moving there to retire and I'm fed up with the cost of living out here. I'm also fed up with the crime and bumper to bumper traffic everywhere . I guess it depends on what your looking for....  (Oct 30, 2012 | post #80)

Moving from West Coast to East Coast

I moved to B.C. When I was 24 years old and have loved it for a lot of years, I'm now 62. I can't wait to leave this province........th e cost of living is over the top and bumper to bumper traffic everywhere. Drugs and crime are rampant and you have to lock everything, bikes, BBQ's, ladders, someone even tried to steal the gate we had put up so nothing else would be stolen. I have been looking at Nova Scotia for awhile and it sounds pretty good to me. I know all about the snow having been born in Montreal, but let me tell you, I've also had enough of 6 months of dull dreary rain and dampness.......if you want to know more you can contact me at theviolet@shaw.ca. Want to connect with people who have moved to Nova Scotia...

I want to retire to Nova Scotia in a couple of years and would like to have contact with people who have moved there from B.C. I am looking for a quiet life, with no bumper to bumper traffic or pollution. I want to know about the weather, cost of living and housing situation. I prefer wood heat and want a sound home that is livable but not necessarily new. The cost of heating for the winter????  (Oct 4, 2012 | post #1)
