Should Karen Davis be expelled from Glendora
Review this carefully, sir. There are now 2 completely incompatiable schools of thought circulating about the Mayor: Were this random "fact" true that her home is in default (which it most likely is not), then this stabs an ugly, gaping whole in your theory that Mayor Davis is stealing "millions " of dollars from the city. If she did have untold "millions " of dollars readily available, then I am sure she would have the presence of mind enough to spend it to keep her roof over her and her family's heads. Please, oh please, oh PLEASE respond! **GH** (Oct 29, 2009 | post #317)
So now he terrorizes children, eh? What is this, has Councilman Tessitor transformed into the Boogeyman? **GH** (Oct 29, 2009 | post #2)
Crude or violent gestures hardly constitue being an "outstanding example." Furthermore, I highly doubt Mr. Brubaker's actions represent the "true feelings" of any majority of people, much less the 12.5% of the populace (Glendora citizens aged 65 and older, [US Census Bureau]). If this were so, why is not the Council Chamber filled with senior citizens voicing their frustrations?? **GH** (Oct 29, 2009 | post #29)
Should Karen Davis be expelled from Glendora
You know whats really weird about this Mr. Smith? (One weird thing of many, I'm suspecting). For some reason which is unknown to me, he insists on postig under multiple names! As Im reading the threads, I find he has used no less than 15 different aliases. Thats bizarre, and reaks of paranoia. (Oct 29, 2009 | post #315)
Elias Elias: Glendora soldier mourned
Sir, To avoid confusion, please know that many people who serve in uniform did not and will not ever look upon the Bush Administration and its skewed policies with any degree of reverence. Of course there are those in uniform whos actions are less than honorable, and their reasons for serving as varying and sundry as the next. But those twisted, demented soldiers in no way represent the whole of the Armed Forces of the United States anymore than Amy Winehouse's representation of the United Kingdom. Much like myself, numerous soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines have done some wonderful things and are establishing relationships based in mutual humanity and charity. To think that every single person associated with the armed forces is "evil" and inherently responsible for the actions of an Administration just goes to show complete and utter ignorance, be it "pig" or otherwise. Excellent point about Councilman Clifford! **GH** (Oct 29, 2009 | post #6)
Thats right, he did go on about the Seal of Glendora. Something about "little to no manufactoring " in town anymore, as depicted on the city seal. What was his (larger) point about again? I forget how he tied the city seal into ANYTHING. (Oct 29, 2009 | post #2)
Should Karen Davis be expelled from Glendora
How is my opinion "stuck?" As of this moment, Karen Davis has demonstrated her ability to serve her community on various levels. If the Mayor or anyone serving on the Council acts in a way in which I would inherently disagree or find to be suspect, then my opinion will (obviously) change. Until that time, no one as submitted a coherent arguement as to why Mayor Davis should be "expelled. " If your opinion happens to differ from mine, then by all means please share why. **GH** (Oct 29, 2009 | post #313)
Elias Elias: Glendora soldier mourned
Why do you call Elias "evil?" Did you know him? Do you know what his mission was? When I was in Iraq, I spent hundreds of hours with the Iraqi children and their parents. These people were living in poverty, so I asked my friends back in the U.S. and the U.K. to send coloring books and toys and clothes. The children and I played "football " and other games and told each other stories. They shared their culture with me, and I shared mine. I went to their homes, met their families (parents and grandparents), and had chai and bread with honey. When it was time to leave, I was sad because I was saying goodbye to excellent friends whom I knew I might never see again. I was not an occupier. And I'm certainly not evil (and I would hope no one would adopt that view of me!). Is it possible SPC Elias might have been a patriot who represented his country well and died in a foreign land? I believe he was. (Oct 29, 2009 | post #5)
