Good morning...hey oldtimer, thank you. Reading this site for about a year and I don't remember anyone but me ever mentioning Earnest Goodoctor, Goodoctor, even though a friend of mine, was the most feared person I ever knew!!! And please don't misunderstand me, i'm not claiming to be a bad ass but this MF'er stood 5 foot 6 at the most and I have seen him. Make some bad mothers quiver in their boots, although Red D was no slouch by any means, I have to admit that the two craziest people that I had the good fortune to be friends with both were small in stature, Earnest Goodoctor and Ricky Dukes, how both of them lived past thirty is a mystery to me, when I read about Ricky's demise I broke down and cried like a baby. I gotta go, my computer crashed last night and the Comcast people are on their way most likely to claim it was the fault of the computer and not their service!! Oldtimer I hope you enjoy reading my book, I am very happy that it was so well received, being a part of that era yourself you will laugh a lot about some of the things in it, you have my email address (gasparvetrano@aol .com) feel free to drop me a line, I think we would have good conversation. Peace  (Aug 23, 2011 | post #946)

In the movie the car belonged to a pimp named KC, he even had a small part in the movie, he wore a white suit and talked bout keeping bitches in line, Ron Oneal played priest as for his likeness Oneal and my partner Balling Draffen looked alike, KC and Porky aka Silky were similar styled pimps, Silky I hear you said you can't place me, funny I remember talkie to you and Bigtime at Scotty's place the open end!! Beside I knew you as porky before you wrote the book that put you in jail and what other white pimp did you know  (Jul 16, 2011 | post #919)

Goodevening gents, I was just reading some of the older posts on this site, on May 2009 a gentleman named Prince Ali wrote on how Bumpy was the number one man in Harlem right up until his death in 1971 and said "see Shaft" Prince you are right Bumpy ran Harlem right up until his death but Shaft was a Movie, a great movie, Drew Brown had me laughing til I cried but it had nothing to do with Bumpy, you see Bumpy died in July of 1968, and I am sure of this, I was at his funeral to pay my respects even though I only met him once, I attended the Movie Shaft with Bundini one afternoon after hanging out all night at his club "Bundinis World" on 2nd ave in the 80s, if you start believing in movies you will end up believing that Frank Lucas is a real Gangster, no Yong brother Hollywood spins and sells dreams. Peace.  (Jul 1, 2011 | post #914)

Hey driver, Bogardz any all my brothes that i lost contact with, Sh*i got all Fu8ked up again but email me at www.gasparvetrano@ aol.com, and I will return the email with my new phone numbers. been out of touch for a while, AK I returned your email but dont know if you got it, had a few personal problems but brother AK dont worry I didn't sign anything, Brother corneilius we got some stuff in common, no disrespect intended, our given names are very unusual, I dropped the O from my name whenI was in my mid thirties, try growing up with a monika like GASPARO, the olive oil just slides off it. Since I hooked up with my family, My deceased partner Ballin"s daughters and his brothers kids I have been havin a ball, for those that have read this site or my book he was the one person I loved most in this world and it is reflected in that book, I was happy to learn that his oldest daughter had been writing a book for a couple of years, mtter of fact it will seem like she plagerized my book but the reverse is true in a sence, she started writing it before me and I will do everything possible to make sure she doesn't get screwed by the publisher like I did, I am so fu*kin proud of her, the title of the book will be Broken by Toi Draffen, I"m kinda glad that I went through the BS first and Much love to AK a brother that I have yt to meet but has been more help in the advise department then my own lawyer, everyone has been supportive, My partner's brother Rodney ( He is the youngest black man to become a green beret) has been fantastic, Tennille Ballin's youngest daughter, my niece has been more concerned about me the my own daughter, until 2 months ago the last time I saw her she was about 5 years old, when I look into her eyes I see her father and we have become as close, she is the daughter I should have had, going to visit them last month just changed my life more then I can say, Ballin's older daughter lives in texas, she is the writer, tennille lives a few miles away but I got to meet all the grandchildren and it was fantastic, well I ain't gonna bore you all to death, but to everyone that has a big family I salute you I have no one but my wife and refinding my lost family has made me the happiest man alive. Peace. Gaspar  (Apr 14, 2011 | post #786)

Pete and Driver, Pete I understand what you are saying about Guy and Olive, Goldfinger and I were pretty cool, when I got home from the Nam it was early 1968, I only dabbled in the drug game at the time, pimpin' was my main source of income, I say this because my view on women was not what it is now, they were all fair game and Guy did have a c--t collar but today my view of women is quite different, I have been married to a square for close to 20 years and completely faithful, it is ignorant of me to say that Guy's actions back then were correct but Pete I am very old fashion and still believe in loyality, that being said all I can say is when it comes to my friend's right or wrong I side with them, and as far as you offending anyone all I can say is that any one who says what you said because of a friend is OK in my view, that's why I requested that you email me so we can exchange phone numbers and kick it. I am a firm believer in "I may not agree with every thing you say but will fight by your side to defend your right to say it" peace. Gaspar  (Mar 25, 2011 | post #772)

I tried to give an accurate account of Harlem in my book and it has been well received but damn I miss the old days, they don't have anything like the bigtrack here even shopping for clothes is a hard task. The screenplay of my book is about 6 months away from being through, and I promice it will be the truth unlike American. Gangster which was pretty true it just wasn't Franks story. And a holler at AK and Cous. Drop me a line. Peace. Gaspar  (Mar 24, 2011 | post #766)

Hey Driver, did you get my email? You say above that you saw Tito, it's good to know some of us old timers are still breathing!!I am signed in on another persons computer today but give me a call a fter the weekend. I have to respond to Pete. Brother I don't know where Guy got Olive, and what I am about to say I do not say with pride nor remorse. Before I got into the drug game I was a pimp, not one like they show on television but a vicious behind beating money demanding dog, the you got no money you don't come home kind, I have been married to a square for the past 19 years who to this day can't understand people from that world no matter how long ago it was, I am telling all this so there is no misunderstanding what kind of morals I had, but of all the sh-t I have done in my life I never tried to get someone else to do my time, I won't list the places I did time in but I will say the classification jails I have been in are Yardville, Downstate and Concord!! thats three different states, now this ain't bragging it is a statement of just how stupid a man I was, still am just to old to want to do anymore time, so I don't do anything that is going to cause me to.I'm having my 65th birthday in four months and was a wrong doer since the age of 12, the point I am trying to make is this, what Guy did with Shamecca was f--ked up, but that's on him, he has been inside since 1984, could have gotten out with a few names and a little testifying, and that is on him and his character. I know that for a couple of decades I did a lot of messed up things morally but never violated the SACRED code of doing your own time, this may sound contradictory but it is not, a person has got to have something that means SOMETHING to them, you I know I was a DOG but not a RAT. You may read this and think...this dude is messed up in the head....I might be, but there are over 7500 people that think my way is interesting enough to read about, and so far no one has asked to return my book to the publisher, that doesn't mean I am right but I feel it should make you think that maybe I am. Nothing is promiced to us but even a DOG can be honorable, I don't have 10 people that I can call a friend but the one's that I have been my friends for over 30 years, and ewven if ONE of my friends did something that was messed up I will defend them.  (Mar 13, 2011 | post #746)

Hey mwj164, you're the first person beside myself that has ever mentioned Raiderman or Good doctor, Earnest Goodoctor and I ran together for a while, gave me my first Patek Phillipe watch, and Raiderman was one of the top dealers back in the 70's, You don't hear much about these people it seems writers get the most mileage out of writing about RATS like Nicky Barnes and Frank Lucas, there is even a conversation between those two snitches where Frank calls Guy Fisher a punk, Guy and I have been friends for over thirty years and trust me when I say that Lucas would have never called Guy anything but SIR, as a matter of fact Lucas was a person that none of us that hung out uptown wanted around us, he was an ignorant lying punk thirty five years ago and still is. I know I always go on about him but he just hurt to many of my friends to let it go.  (Mar 9, 2011 | post #740)

Yes Country I knew Preacher, not well though. And cpo357 yes everything is gone but that poison crack,I describe in my book that it asn't the la that brought me down it was my obsession with that damn pipe, or as i used to call it the glass dick. my brother I watched it break a lot of people and saw how much i was into it but still couldn't get out of it's way, it broke my back, but when some 20 years later I read that there was a rumor that the CIA had something to do with crack getting into certain urban areas it all made sence to me, once again uncle sam was extracting a tax from his poorest realitives. I have a new prayer that I have been using I hope it doesn't offend anyone. God Bless America, Cause the Devil already got your Dumb Ass!!! Cpo357, I got to do a few things and I'll catch up with you on the email side. POeace.  (Jan 30, 2011 | post #657)

Hey CPO357, I was just re reading what you wrote on Jan 22 and your statement is not only eloquint but beautiful, it brought me back a ways, there used to be a soul food restaurant called the SISTERS up town that had the best food in the world, Harlem in the summertime was the greatest neighborhood on this planet. I still get a thrill remembering how 7th ave was , you could walk a block or two and get all your shopping done, YA YA I know it was all illegal stuff but a lot of us were illegal from the time we got out of bed in the morning to when we went back to it at night and my morality may sound warped but it was a lifestyle that was fantastic, you could catch some of the boosters before they went out and put orders in for what you wanted, you could eat while you were getting your hair and nails done, most of the young men today, and I have had this mentioned to me,don't know what a manicure and pedicure for a man is or they associate it with being soft but that is the way most hustlers started their day with their hair and nails, you had young men that would wash your car for a few bucks and do a better job then the car wash although there was one car wash I think it was off central park west, that washed your car by hand, both the men and women would change clothes 2 or 3 times a day, MAN it was just a different world, The poets say there is no such thing as "the good old days" but I beg to differ, uptown back in the seventies was as close to paradise as I have ever been. I haven't been back to NYC since 1989 but I'll get back there soon just to see what has changed, the first time I posted anything on this site was to respond to a young sister that stated Harlem had to many white people for her liking, I wonder if she is aware of the fact that President Bill Clinton lives in Harlem, Sister if you read this I am not mentioning your name but that was a statement that sounded like somethig the klu Klux Klan would say. Harlem was a city unto itself and when places like Count Basie's nightclub was open there were all sorts of people from all over the world ptown  (Jan 29, 2011 | post #654)
