It seems as though the new Gig Harbor Kohl's has been getting robbed quite a bit but that could just be the lack of news reporting. Last week two males in their late 20's to early 30's tried to shop lift a whole stack of Levi jeans and a coat (which they used to cover up the cart full of jeans). Thanks to some employees keeping their eye out for shoplifters they were detered and left the store empty handed. When they totaled up the full amount they would have gotten away with it was around $1,600. That would have been a major hit on a brand new store. Kohl's has a great loss prevention team and cameras that got a great picture of the two men. On February 9th the two men came in and an employee recoginized them as the shoplifters and contacted loss prevention who called the police but they didn't arrive in time forcing them to take matters into their own hands. The police caught the two men with two older women assumed to be the mother and grandmother based on their age differences. The two women are suspected of being the get away drivers and all four were arrested. They were residents of Tacoma, WA. This is just one of the many shoplifters who have been caught by the amazing Loss Prevention team at Kohl's. If anyone knows of stories of robberies or any other crimes that occur in Gig Harbor that aren't covered by news, please post them. (Feb 10, 2013 | post #1)
