citifinancial layoffs

To Amaysed KMA... If you can't figure it out, the first two words are Kiss MY. Since your attention to detail is critical I guess you can figure out the last word. You must be a Citi manager because the first thing you did when people were voicing there concerns was to put down the method in wich they did it. If you don't understand why people are upset here is an example. Friday October 31st monnth end, Holloween to boot, meaning the people who pay the accounts are out with their children, so good luck collecting after 5pm. Our office, down to three people, in a branch that should have five,(has been that way for most of the month because two people left that were threatened with their job so why wait around.) posted 120 payments, booked 6 loans, and had an audit going on(that we are passing)without a BM or DM for support. We recieved a call from our AD telling us that he hoped we had more sets than we were showing because we were not looking good. Now, Yes,he was doing his job, the manner in how it was done was all wrong. Any motivation to get the job done was out the window. This is what we are all up against. No matter how hard you work the efforts are never good enough. Now being this is an outlet for people to speak their minds without repercussions( let's face it try to voice concerns with upper managament and either it falls on deaf ears or you are a boat rocker) Leave people the HELL alone. If you want to counter what people say here fine, great, feel free. Leave the way they do it alone. Ripping apart they way they do it is wrong and hurtful and tells me you may agree but don't want to admit it so you attack the way it's done. Yes we all at time's can be better workers and pay more attention to detail, only a fool thinks they are perfect, just as a fool will attack others to feel they are superior. And IF i hvave made lots of erors plz forgive mE as I am surly going to HEll for IT.  (Nov 1, 2008 | post #420)

you can work long hours without without going over 40. When dlq is out of wack you end up working till 9pm. But instead of overtime you comp out hours, either by coming in late or taking a long lunch break. Which to people who have children is very disruptive. We don't usually find out excactly when your going to have to change your schedule until the day before or that day leaving you to rearrange your life around the job. A positive side has come about with the lowering of excel goals( cut nearly 40%) and grumblings through the grape vine is that putting people on pips is coming to an end. We(citifinancial) have lost alot of good people recently to do fear of losing there jobs. Dlq has risen because alot of offices are running short staffed and there are not enough staff to work the accounts. It looks like some people are starting to see that $300,000-$400,000 sales growth per branch(every month) was just unrealistic. And writing people up just sent them to our competition. Why wait around to be fired trying to meet a goal that was unatainable.  (Oct 17, 2008 | post #369)

Walterboro, SC

Speed Trap

What, did you miss the course when getting your drivers license on what those signs that say speed limit are for. So what if the sign is 200 feet from a stoplight( they are not always red.) Just becasue there wasn't any traffic doesn't make it ok to ignore posted sign's. I will always be amazed when people gripe because they speed and then complain because they got a ticket.( you probaly would have gotten a warning if you hadn't argued with the officer)( you know you did.) I have lived in Walterboro for 8 yrs ( the 1st 6 months with out of state tags) I have never been pulled over by any of our law enforcement( Local, state or sherriff within the city limits) Ya know why, I obey the laws no matter what day or time. And yes I have been stopped for speeding before because I wasn't paying attention, in most cases if you apologize and are sincere the officer will tell you to have a good day. The last thing they want when doing a job nobody appreciates, is some moron argueing with them over the placement of the sign. No I am not in law enforcement, And we have several antique shops that do exist that are operated by (non whining) law abiding citizens. Ps. The average car can go from 60-stop in under 200 feet. Since your car can't seem to drop 10mph in that distance get your brakes checked.( or use them it's the larger pedal to the left of the gas pedal.  (Oct 14, 2008 | post #2)

If you have to renew your customers and adjust their rates up to 4 times you missed the boat in the first place. Let's be realistic here. Customers that are renewed and have their rate adjusted that many times are a collection problem that your adjusting to cure deliquency. Call it what you want but that's the botttom line. We call it helping the customer because we are brainwashed into believing that's what we are doing. Why is the customer in a hardship anyway? Because they where made a loan that couldn't afford in the 1st place because the system looks at gross income. You take a customer that just passes ATP and make them a loan because "hey the pass." Look at their paycheck and compare gross to net( take away taxes, medical, 401K) and you see where the problem is. But what the hell, make them a loan and when they can't pay renew them or adjust their rate and call it being in tune with the customer.  (Oct 9, 2008 | post #352)

AMEN! It's just so good not to feel like your the only one with these thoughts, or being tired of getting kicked around. And for those of you who think we are whinners and complainers we are not! For those of you that think we should leave if we don't like it, maybe we can't or believe that we don't want to because the new people coming in will not give a dam about the customer. The new people coming in will be trained to do whatever it takes to sell the customer and keep them up to date. I renew customers that need it and actually benefits them. The company wants them renewed no matter what, but the customers are not stupid. They know what they can afford and when they are getting the shaft. I have high standards of customer service and take offense to being called a crook. When the customer tells us the company is just after more money, their right, and you can't defend the company without looking stupid. I have always thought CAD to be the biggest joke. We have to try to trick the customer into believing it's about thanking them for their business when all it is is just to get them into the office to borrow more money while giving them cheap food and discount coupons. Again they are not stupid, they see how much they are paying back and comment on how cheap Citi is, a point you can't defend.  (Oct 9, 2008 | post #347)

Since you don't really know the situation I'll explain it for you. No one that I know in our company has a problem working towards what is expected. What is expected changes on a daily basis. I've never seen a company before that achieving 100% of your goal is not good enough. In any company (but this one) achieving 100% of your goals each month you would be considered good at what you do. do 110% each month and you would be great. we are expected to achieve 150% ( although they will take 125% and not fire you) Achieve 125% but miss your deliquency and you suck. achieve deliquency but miss your sales goal and you suck. Achieve 125% of goal, make your deliquency but don't meet optional products sales and you really suck and you are not trying. As far as you calling all accounts and booking all loans here is a hint at what you would be doing. If you did it all here what your looking at.(these are low #'s) you will make about 200 calls a day every day and book 10 loans per day every day. While you are doing that you will have to answer any incoming calls and handle all the assorted reasons why people can not make the payments, and talk the people who can not make their payments into renewing their loans. While your calling 200 calls a day answering the phone and booking those loans, you will have to stop that and take care of the customer who just walked into your office and wants to be taken care of right now! All of this is expected of you in a declining (recession) economy. If you manage to do all of this ( you said you would) you will be getting calls from your upper management telling you that you are not doing enough and want to know what you are going to do to get inline. Oh and by the way, I need those 5 reports filled out and faxed right away, no right now. You make think all of this is an exageration but truthfully it is underexagerated. Since you are displaced right know feel free to come to our state, we have alot of positions available. You will be able to see for yourself.  (Oct 8, 2008 | post #343)
