That’s not accurate; our membership continues to grow and it's operations supported by steadfast monetary contributions from the community. If indeed our City is headed for insolvency. The Fire Watch’s reserve might soon exceed the City’s! Kyle, can you weigh in on this? EOM  (Feb 23, 2013 | post #5)

Here is some background information regarding the planning of the CPGP Candidate Forum. January 21, 2013 Thank you for your prompt responses regarding the candidate forum. I'm still waiting to hear from Mr. Higgins but I thought I would respond to a few questions that have been brought up. Regarding the forum format, I plan to utilize / propose that we use the same format that we used in the previous election cycle. Here are the key features. 1) We would conduct the forum for no longer than 2 hours. 2) The forum questions will not be provided ahead of the event. I think it is important to see how candidates respond to real time questions. But I can assure you that there will be no "gotcha questions". The objective behind the questions will be to find out how each of you would deal with the challenges /issues facing the city. We will alternate the sequence of who addresses each question so that you will have a chance to be the first to answer all the way to the last to answer. 3) To cover a decent set of topics and accommodate up to 5 responses per question, the time limit for each response will probably be around 2 minutes. This will give you an opportunity to practice being succinct and focus on your main point. Regards, Norm Geiser January 29, 2012 Gentlemen, A short note to let you know that everything is on course for the candidate forum Tuesday night (February 5) from 7 to 9 pm in the "all purpose" room at city hall. We are working on some options to video tape the forum. I will pass on additional info on this when we have something definitive. I will also pass along other pertinent info as February 5th approaches. Thanks again for your willingness to participate in this forum. Regards, Norm Geiser February 5, 2013 2:10 PM Mr Geiser and All Candidates, I just came back to the office and was informed a long standing patient has an abcessed tooth and swelled up face. He is coming in to see me after he comes out from court (he is an attorney). By the time he gets here, and I get done treating him, it may be too late to attend the forum. I need to make sure his dental emergency does not become a medical emergency. I will see all of you at next week's forum. Thank you, Chester February 5, 2013 3:00 PM Chester, Thanks for the heads up. If, by chance, your procedure goes well and you are able to finish in a timely manner, we will keep a seat for you. As a CC member, there will be times when you will have conflicts, and in those instances I would assume that you would still try to attend a portion of the meeting. The option to come for some of the forum would be better than none of it. You are welcome to do that. To all candidates: FYI, I just got on my computer in the past half hour (2:30 pm) and have received personal emails from Kyle and Michael regretting that they will not be attending the forum. Rather late to get a decline with no reason given but for now the forum will go forward tonight as planned. We will set up the forum for 5 seats in hopes that the declines will reconsider. Thanks, Norm EOM  (Feb 9, 2013 | post #2)

Triangle of Life...No, Not True It Is Death

Wait a minute accusations the La Habra Heights Heights Improvement Association printed false and misleading information that can kill you. I am shocked but not surprised.  (Aug 4, 2011 | post #11)

Actually pay has a lot to do with it, but we'll deal with that at another time and/or topic. I will keep it focused on the "perpes" that force Joe to choose between right and wrong. And lets not kid ourselves, Joe is no angel in the fight for free speech or first amendment rights in La Habra Heights. Just ask the ACLU.  (Apr 5, 2011 | post #109)

Joe Geissinger (cameraman) does what he does because he is paid to do it! The City seems to believe the best way to control volunteers is to pay them. I would say it works. View Joe's pay here: http://la-habra-he ights.granicus.com /MetaViewer.php?vi ew_id=2&clip_i d=120&meta_id= 12117 And you thought he was a volunteer.  (Apr 5, 2011 | post #102)

The following quote is appropriate for describing the current state of affairs in La Habra Heights. "Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear" - Harry S. Truman  (Feb 13, 2011 | post #5)

La Habra Heights Fire Watch P-61 and 62, 7/4/2008

Honest we were not at the mall. Actually we had just picked up the units from a servicing terminal located in Norwalk. We stopped at Pep Boys to pick up some maintenance supplies and search out a replacement marker light for P-62.  (Jul 11, 2010 | post #2)

Assault on Photojournalist

The only "extremely aggressive and strange acting" was from that nut, John Pearce attacking me from behind. Someone should get a restraining order against that man. Who knows you maybe his next victim? Among one of many mendacity’s made by Karen Vipperman on tape. The most amusing was her calling I a high school dropout. For the record and as previously reported I attended St John Bosco preparatory school and graduated in 1986. Now, if Karen can't get that easily obtainable information correct. Should one trust anything else that spews from her mouth to be correct? The videotape actually goes on for about 45 minutes and captures the La Habra Heights Improvement Association’s true intentions, to remain underground and apparently by the recordings an organization that condones violence against anyone who demands transparency in their nonprofit group. The community should be given the opportunity to view the entire 45-minute recording. Anyone care to ask the City to play it on Channel 3? It’s even more dramatic and frightening on the large screen.  (Jun 20, 2010 | post #11)

LHH Fire & Paramedics

This is so funny. The incident happened so long ago you must have the mind of an elephant. Buts let make the corrections so folks do not accuse you of misleading them. First, the Pierce fire engine we own was not purchased on eBay as was erroneously reported in the local rags and, for the record, the original color was yellow. Second, as you may already know, we did not respond to the incident. We were driving in the area and ran into the wires down and called it in to the fire department. We then stood by until trained personal arrived on scene. Just being a good Samaritan, wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt right? Third, what’s wrong with wearing shorts? It was hot that day. We are grateful for your concern but rest assured we own the proper PPE equipment and would dawn them if the need arises. Finally, yeah your suggestion to sign up for the fire academy is a good idea but the city no longer runs a fire academy. But you know that already. I do have a letter from the fire chief that might convince you to cut the residents some slack. It seems that staffing one engine will be the norm and fire prevention efforts will take a back seat. Also, no corrections to the fire department regression in fire suppression ability (ISO classification) will be made. Link to La Habra Heights Fire Chief’s letter to ISO: http://bit.ly/aqs2 Bz Still think residents should not take responsibility for protecting their homes and communities? OK, maybe not in flip-flops.  (Jun 14, 2010 | post #30)
