Las Cruces judge suspended

whoa...sometimes we all need to remember that our behavior needs to be as though our mothers are within earshot and eye sight...i notice that i have less patience than I would like to have...I am certain I woukld feel challenged tomaintain decorum when faced with certain individuals wh demonstrate poor manners or lack of respect....not to condone unprfessional behavior but we seem to be living in a time with bad manners and little tolerance...  (Jan 21, 2010 | post #40)

A life of hardships, happiness

uncle mariano is my grandfather's brother's son on my mom's side. i spent alot of time listening to his father my elder uncle mariano regale us with stories of his young life and also of ", "cuentos " tales of virtue and adventure from hispanic culture..this uncle mariano is also the family historian and curator of our family archives and knowledge...he is also councilor miguel chavez' daddy which might explain miguel's considerable talent in traditional wood working and fine furniture..what a wonderful story about this great man...thank you...  (Aug 11, 2009 | post #3)

Drinking pal says Diaz was driver

I just don't get it. Suppose for a second that this horrible accident had happened in front of a Santa Fe bar on the street...would she be facing the same set of circumstances as she is now? Is justice proportional to that amount of sovereignty available TO A VICTIM?  (Aug 4, 2009 | post #23)

Preserving a piece of the past

Bud Kelly is a class act and a much admired man. We are proud that our family has been friends with him for years. Such a great article but there is so much more that needs to be shared about Mr. Kelly. I hope he writes a book about his life and times in our old town and Pecos.  (Jul 28, 2009 | post #3)

i am so sorry for all involved in any way here. young lives gone in a moment...what little consolation there is, I hope the family takes some comfort in knowing their kids are cherished still and will always be held close in the heart of their loved ones...  (Jul 6, 2009 | post #2)

Police probe driver's path to fatal crash

I can't remember any other tragedy that has created so much sadness and bewilderment....whatever happened at that site, nothing changes the ultimate unfathomable reality of four youngsters gone, families shattered beyond comprehension and the permanent fear striking every parent's heart that this could happen anytime.....a humble suggestion to all that we send as much love and gentleness to these kids and their families, friends and loved ones ...and lets promise each other to increase our awareness of all potential craziness on our whatever form it appears....  (Jul 2, 2009 | post #48)

i am very sorry to hear about this closure... any business that is having a tough time in this economy affects all of us, whether we are high dollar art patrons or just workin reflects on how hard it has become to keep the dream alive...  (Apr 21, 2009 | post #12)

Group petitions feds to increase limits on off-roading

at the end of the day its allabout respect....respect for responsible multiple use and total respect for the land. if we dont have that, the use makes no difference. off roaders shouldnt be demonized for merely being off roaders....what i see happening is the few off roaders that chew up terrain appear to be dominant becausee off road vehicles are so loud and the tire tread is devastating to untread terrain....the people who drive regular vehicles up the mountain and leave their trash are no better. once we can get some consensus that the issue is respect among, between and wround us, we might just start preserving our resources better.  (Mar 31, 2009 | post #27)

Dedicated Native American judge broke race barrier

Carol is an enormously wise and kind spirit, whose knowledge of the law was never more important than her compassion for those she served and cared about. I speak of her in the present tense because her large spirit and the work she did is very much alive in the people she touched. While her unique style can never be duplicated, her passion continues to be emulated by the rest of us who can only aspire to what she did for her family, her profession and her people. May you be carried on the wings of eagles Carol..  (Mar 29, 2009 | post #8)

with all respect for teatro paraguass and the participants, no one in any official capacity refers to the proceedings as any kind of celebration....they are calling it a commemoration, which is a far more appropriate term given the consensus that none of our pueblo relations consider 1610 a celebratory event.....  (Mar 29, 2009 | post #3)

Film industry wins fight to keep incentives

congrats to all who are working to keep the incentives alive....folks like lisa strout, jon hendry and all the other interested parties who understand that this incentive program goes waaaaaay beyond the issues of loans...while there may be merit to fine tuning the incentive programs to maximize repayment of loans, the answer is not removing incentives from a burgeoning industry that has benefitted new mexicans in ways well beyond the mere presence of film makers in our fair state!!  (Mar 4, 2009 | post #14)
