Thank you!! It's hard for someone who hasn't been there to really understand. My friend tells me when I look at her funny that I need to remember what it was like when I lived with my son in a one bdrm apt on E Tabor. Shes silly though-I guess she doesn't get that I don't want to remember E Tabor lol. Seriously though once you get to the point of having money to go to Walmart instead of the Dollar store, you do forget what it was like when you didn't have the money.I try to remember where I've been, so I never have to go back.  (Wednesday Dec 2 | post #28)

Read a free book in English right? Wouldn't she need to know how to speak the language first? I feel sorry for people that can't speak the language, because that has to be the most frustrating thing. I know it is for me to try and help someone who doesn't speak English, as I don't speak Spanish. I can't tell you the of times my English teacher in Junior high and High school said English is the hardest language to learn, because of all the rules and such. When exactly would you like her to learn a second language, between raising three kids on her own, working, and stressing? The example she's setting for them is no matter how hard things get financially-they still have each other. No matter if your husband or wife leaves, you still keep your kids and keep it moving. Do you think her children came out of the womb well mannered? I guarantee they didn't-that is her doing. I believe when we overcome obstacles, we come out better on the other side. I believe her kids will grow up to be strong, loving family oriented people because of the struggles they survived with their mother. I also don't think you understand what it's like to be a single parent with hardly any money. Things that we take for granted and call necessities like straws and paper towels, other people can't afford, and consider those extras.  (Wednesday Dec 2 | post #24)

What about the Navy? Back in the day, weren't Bikers and Navy Men pretty much the majority of people with tattoos? Military and tattoos go together like peanut butter and jelly. When I was in tech school in the AF, tons of people got tattoos, a lot of them AF tattoos.Just an unfortunate situation. I'm hoping there was a reason this happened. When one door closes, a window opens. Perhaps he wasn't meant to join, because he would have been deployed after tech school, and maybe he wouldn't have come home alive. I don't know Tom Toler. I only heard of him when the last lawsuit came about, and I was thrilled that he won, because I don't care for Paulson. I agree. I know my son is in his own world, and can't (or won't) remember what I just told him three minutes ago, so forget remembering things between my house and his dads. I'm not trying to defend the kids, but I was thinking maybe they get yelled at at home if they try to flush the tp, and the constant back and forth change of rules was too much, so they were just remembering the instructions that come with yelling. How are the donations tracked and updated? If someone reads this article today, and donates a blender to Cynthia, how are they to know 5 other people aren't also donating blenders, and maybe they should donate blankets instead? Maybe it would be better if they could somehow register at Walmart or Target, like people do for wedding registries. That way, people would know what was still needed.  (Saturday Nov 28 | post #1)

Wow, that is so gross, and sad. I wonder what they do at school. I bet they probably put it in the garbage there too. I think the water and PG&E are cheating us. When I lived in a house in VV, my balanced payment plan bill was $144 a month. Dishwasher and washer and dryer. When I moved into a 2 bdrm apt, no washer dryer, 300 ft smaller, my PG&E Balanced Payment Plan bill was $133 a month. They told me it was the dishwasher. Is that why I bought a house without a dishwasher lol? I think they are all cheating us, and we can't do anything about it. I feel bad for your neighbor as well.  (Nov 21, 2009 | post #19)

What does being married have to do with being tossed from place to place? They were allowed to stay with her brother, in the house he was renting, until it was FORECLOSED! How is that being tossed from place to place? They came out here from SoCal for a job the mother was supposed to have. For whatever reason, that fell through. Once again, nothing to do with being married. If they didn't get married last week, and were still just living as a family, what would you complain about? The fact that they aren't married? Seems to me in your eyes they are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. I don't think many people realize just how easy it is to become homeless. Most people are one paycheck away from it. If you lost your job tomorrow, how long could you continue to pay your rent or mortgage on unemployment? Before judging someone, try walking in their shoes. Everything happens for a reason. This family stayed together in tough times.Other people don't have the strength, and they crumble. This family became stronger. Thank God they don't think like you, or they would always stay down from being kicked like people like you. Thank God they are stronger and able to rise above. Besides that, they didn't ask for much at all on their wishlist. Nothing for the kids, nothing extra. Just necessities. Doesn't seem to me like they are asking for a handout, rather a HAND UP! The point is, after twenty years and five children together, they are still together as a family. He did marry her right? Does it matter when? Does that piece of paper change anything? Shoot, how many married couples stay together twenty years? If nothing else, at least they know they can make this marriage work, because they have made it together for the last TWENTY years. You must have a son! (that doesn't always flush the toilet lol.) Mine seems to still be asleep in the mornings, and forgets to flush, unless I stalk the toilet and yell at him. I only have a family of two, and my water bill was $152.39 for two months. What really irked me though was the sewer charge and basic charge just to have water was more than my usage!!!! Irritating but I have to have water.Did you know there are families in America who don't flush the toilet unless they go #2, in an effort to save water? Just gross.  (Nov 21, 2009 | post #17)
