Rain out: Florida Marlins beat Washington Nationals 7-5 in rain...
Agree with that comment. How many balls hit did he stretch out and dive to try and keep the ball in the infield, which would have prevented some runs. He has amazing talent, just lazy. And nice to see Fredi pinch hit for Hermida. HE HAS GOT TO GO. Awful. Period. (Jul 1, 2009 | post #10)
Great game - well pitched by Nolasco. I don't think I would have removed Meyer in the 9th inning, but no complaints, Nunez did the job. The best thing about the game - NO HERMIDA!!!! Fredi keep Carroll in the lineup - please. (Jun 30, 2009 | post #4)
Allan B - for once, you agree with me. Thanks for the honesty. (Jun 29, 2009 | post #22)
So explain to me, if Fredi pinch hits for Hermida with a lefty pitcher in the 9th inning, why does Hermida START against a lefty pitcher. Wes Helms couldn't help but do a better job as the DH in this game. Fredi asleep once again. Allan B - please explain that one. Because I sure can't. (Jun 29, 2009 | post #11)
Upton's 3-run double lifts Rays
Don't forget playing Hermida - this guy is the worst outfielder in the major leagues, Brett Carroll would have made the plays Jeremy can't. When the opposing team's announcer rag on your manager for the stupid moves..... it says it all. Fredi's love affair with Pinto and Hermida shows what kind of a dumb manager he is. Marlins complete sweep of Orioles: Florida Marlins beat Baltimo...
Well done, Marlins. Good hitting (no Hermida) good starting pitching, and no obvious manager mistakes. A good sign. Now if Fredi can keep Carroll in and Hermida out, we have a chance. (Jun 26, 2009 | post #5)
Hanley Ramirez, Cody Ross lead Florida Marlins over Baltimore O...
And the reason is Fredi "I don't have a clue" Gonzalez. (Jun 25, 2009 | post #8)
Hanley Ramirez, Cody Ross lead Florida Marlins over Baltimore O...
As awful as Hermida is, don't forget Bo "Send 'em anyway" Porter's role in this. 1 out, Hermida the tortoise on second base, Ross on deck and the right fielder with a gun. Only he would send this shlub. The excuse me slide at home was just wonderful. NOT. However, nice job by Nolasco and Meyer. No Lindstrom, no problem. Hey Fredi, remember these games when he comes back. (Jun 25, 2009 | post #6)
Jorge Cantu's single in 12th gives Florida Marlins 7-6 victory ...
It's not the fans that didn't support the salary... it was greedy Loria and the whiney one Samson. Regardless of the fans and the concession/parking situation, they have still been one of the most profitable teams since revenue sharing began. And wasn't the idea of revenue sharing to put it back into the team, and not into the piggies pockets? (Jun 24, 2009 | post #45)
Jorge Cantu's single in 12th gives Florida Marlins 7-6 victory ...
The fans didn't support Miggy? Those fans that knew anything about baseball (the ones I hang around with) thought (and still do think) he will be a HOFer when he's done. And about Mikey, there were a few detractors, but I would rather have Beckett and Lowell instead of lazy Hanley any day. Hanley could be a great ballplayer if he would hustle instead of carrying his money in his pockets and stop being so darn lazy. And get your uniform dirty once in a while Hanley for the good of the team. (Jun 24, 2009 | post #43)
Jorge Cantu's single in 12th gives Florida Marlins 7-6 victory ...
And then proceeded to fire Girardi. And sell Miggy and Beckett and Lowell and on and on and on. Fredi the manager of the year. Someone must have had naked pictures of the voters and threatened to put them online. Fredi wouldn't even be the best manager in my grandson's coach pitch league. (Jun 24, 2009 | post #39)

Allan B is off celebrating the fine managing of the game last night. Andrew Miller deserved better than he got last night. He pitched a great game. And before extra innings, I wouldn't stay up to watch any more, Bonifacio actually made some really nice plays in the field. That is why he is here, right? No hit, no bunt, no brains Bonifacio. Put Wes Helms in for a more professional at bat. And put Gload in for Hermida. He KNOWS how to hit and couldn't be any worse in the outfield. (Jun 24, 2009 | post #30)
Florida Marlins vs. New York Yankees: Marlins hold off Yankees ...
I guess the fact that they were the MOST PROFITABLE TEAM according to Forbes magazine means nothing to you. Your point about the lease is correct. But still AFTER revenue sharing, they are the most profitable. So where is the money going? To the players - NO, to the manager - NO, into Loria and Samsons greedy pockets - it's the only thing that fits. (Jun 24, 2009 | post #62)
Florida Marlins vs. New York Yankees: Marlins hold off Yankees ...
Allan, now that you are getting personal, read (if you can) the Forbes article about the most profitable team in baseball in 2008. Can you say....the Marlins. That is because of revenue sharing and how Loria puts that money in his pockets and does not use it for what it was intended to even the playing field for teams that do not have the revenue base from attendance and concession stand and parking revenue (which the Marlins do not share in - thanks John Henry for making such a terrific deal). So we are left with minor league talent both on the field and off, with second rate coaches. Wiley who is too busy shaking his legs and not figuring out how to manage his pitching staff. Presley whose hitters still lead the league in third strikes, many of which are called and not swung at. Porter who doesn't know how to coach third or his outfielders. And then there is Fredi who is always asleep and costs this team more games than any other manager in the history of baseball. He has no clue, but because the price tag is cheap, is kept by Loria and whiney baby Samson, whose claim to fame will soon be pressing the button to open and close the dome for the hundreds of people that will go to the OB site. Don't think for a minute that Loria will open the coffers to field a major league team when the Marlins move to the new stadium. So Allan B, it is not that the Marlins fans are pathetic, we are just smart enough to know what baloney this management offers to South Florida. Now if we only had a real owner with the cojones to spend a little money, you would see the fans in the stands. I will now get down from my soapbox. (Jun 22, 2009 | post #46)
Marlins rookie pitcher like Sean West pitching with heavy heart
This is not the article to post your comments about the Marlins. Our sympathies go out to Sean West. (Jun 22, 2009 | post #3)
