Coulter's Cackling: A Political Debate

but there is something positive for everyone so why aren't the spin doctors taking the "look what I got" approach? Dems got unemployment benefits extended 13 months. it's more debt that we can't afford but it's the right thing to do for millions of people. Repubs avoided a tax hike for the upper 2% (I won't debate where the break off should be set) and an estate perk. The potential for job creation may be there (another debatable issue but I said potential). Obama displayed real leadership by broking a deal that the kids in congress could not do on there own. And the middle class is spared for 2 more years. First civil negotiation in 2 years IMO.  (Dec 7, 2010 | post #3421)

I was thinking of taunting her. I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries. No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time.  (Nov 29, 2010 | post #38819)

Wow! I am very surpised at the reponses to LW2. As I read the letter, a gift was not expected but it has become a custom. I've been on both sides on this issue. As a parent with kids in sports programs I have been asked to donate for a thank you gift. If the coach did a decent job I would give $10. As a coach it was a nice gesture but a thank you and hearing the kid learned something and enjoyed themselve was enough for me. The gift was a plaque with the team photo along with a gift card to Home Depot or something. It's certainly not a lot for volunteering 6 to 10 hours a week for a 3 to 4 month sports season and it was never expect. it certainly was appreciated. I think the LW has been volunteering for years and was accustom to prior teams giving a gift and now a team didn't bother doing anything. As someone else mentioned, the team probably didn't have a parent willing to run around to collect a few bucks and get a plaque made.  (Nov 22, 2010 | post #19)

LW1 - you chose to be a piece of ass and now you got treated like one. LW2 - yes, you got stuck with a group of cheap skates but you didn't volunteer your time for a cup of coffee either. Just remember it's all about the kids. Time to read everyone thoughts.  (Nov 22, 2010 | post #18)

Here a good one from My MIL - we do a grab bag and my spouse has to buy gifts for her mother. Well the MIL has completed all of the shopping for herself so my spouse doesn't have to do a thing. The MIL then turns around and says she doesn't want to allow gift cards for my teenager daughter. I just have to laugh and hold a mirror up in her face! She buys and wraps everything for herself but doesn't want my daughter to enjoy her own shopping spree.  (Nov 18, 2010 | post #38285)

Who asks a 6 yo for their opinion? If they brought me a beer from the fridge I'd say thank you but I would never be concerned with their opinion.  (Nov 17, 2010 | post #44)

My 12 pack time has extended to 9 or 10 hours. Sunday 12pm NFL game, 3pm game, and hour for dinner and 60 minutes and then Sunday night football. The alcohol soothes the couch sours.  (Nov 17, 2010 | post #43)

American TV has been my Black Friday store for the last 4 or 5 years. The Best Buy has lines around the entire building where as American goes around the first corner. Once in the building they have colored lines spliting up the crowd based on the sale item you desire (large screen tv versus laptop). They definately control the madness of Black friday.  (Nov 17, 2010 | post #38204)

So I got to hear all about the murderer that was released after 12 years of the 24 year sentence as family and friend had vigils in multiple states yesterday. but what was the next news story??? A guy that murdered 2 elderly people received 120 years. Obviously the details of the case influence the jail terms but it seems like the difference is too subjective.  (Nov 17, 2010 | post #38200)
