Florida flights out of Plattsburgh
A great connection! Plattsburgh is "Montreal's U.S. Airport" -- a new secondary airport for greater Montreal and northern NY created from the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base. Montrealers ID'd Fort Lauderdale as the #1 destination they wanted to get to from Plattsburgh, and Allegiant has responded. Predictions are for more flights in the coming months. Plattsburgh International Airport
Plattsburgh's new airport is fully open and new air services are starting to become available. Allegiant Air has announced that non-stop jet service to Fort Lauderdale will commence this November, and indications are that they will add flights and destinations in the coming months. The airport is working on other services likely to be of interest to nearby Montrealers too. The airport was a good website at www.flyplattsburgh .com and it's bi-lingual. Interesting development for the aviation marketplace in southern Quebec and northern NY! (Sep 8, 2007 | post #1)
Patience is a virtue. Airlines don't commit to airports that aren't fully opened and approved. That doesn't mean groundwork hasn't been laid for the last two years -- and is already bringing results. Allegiant will succeed and grow here. And then other services will then unfold over the next two years. (Sep 8, 2007 | post #2)
