The Devil Fled Down to GA

Well, I live in Georgia and I am sure the good people here would surely like to know more about her background. I certainly would not want any member of my family having anything to do with her. From what I have read and seen, she was very lucky she was not charged with murder herself.  (Jun 17, 2011 | post #420)

Man's house burns over $75 fee not paid

From Steve Sharp, who lives in the same county as Cranick: Everyone here that I ever discussed this subject with, knows that if you live in a rural area that charges for fire protection and you don't pay. You don't get service. Yes, they watch your house burn. Yes, they will make sure your neighbor's house doesn't catch fire, if your neighbor has paid. Often these firefighters are volunteers or work for a neighboring city or county. It is a system that works and allows people to choose to pay or not for fire protection. It has always been this way here. "I thought they'd come out and put it out, even if you hadn't paid your $75, but I was wrong," said Gene Cranick. He did NOT forget to pay. I can't imagine a Tennessean would be this ignorant. All I can guess is that Gene Cranick must have recently moved here, and didn't know better. The city of South Fulton, population 2,500 cannot afford to provide fire protection for all 555 square miles of Obion County. It is NOT possible. There are 5 other towns in Obion County. Obion County doesn't have a fire department of it's own. Taxes are not being charged to pay for County firefighters or equipment.  (Oct 6, 2010 | post #13)
