Reputed Dayton crime figure Bill Stepp has died

Can anyone possibly point me in the right direction to obtain additional information about Mr. Stepp other than what's posted here?  (Jan 15, 2013 | post #155)

Thanks Curator, WOW, some really neat photos. I have a question: is this The Michael Ferraro in that one photo that owned the Living Room Strip Club that recently died?  (Jan 10, 2013 | post #153)

Goddi51, Perhaps you haven't read all of my previous post but let me be very clear : I've never implied that I know anything about Mr. Stepp or what he did or did not do. I'm here simply trying to find out about him and I'm sorry if that offends you. I have only stated the things I've heard about Mr. Stepp and am hoping someone can confirm them or not. I'm not here to spin elaborate "Glorious " stories about him or anyone else. These are the only things I have been told by my family: #1) Bill Stepp grew up a very poor person as did my family in Adams County #2) Bill was a very nice guy that "would give you the shirt right off his back but you didn't want to cross him". The other things I made mention of are just things I've heard from others that was not able to confirm as being TRUE. I personally don't know anything about Mr. Stepp and I will not say anything bad about someone I don't know. I was simply hoping to find someone here that may provide some information about him and possibly confirm the stories I've heard about him.  (Jan 9, 2013 | post #150)

Mark-Dayton, Thanks for your reply to my previous post. I have heard that he did "pit fight" as a teenager and I knew about the auto racing. I've heard so many people talk about how he simply went to Dayton and took over the organized crime in Montgomery county. I am perplexed by this as I cannot understand how one person decides to move to Dayton and simply takes over. I have heard rumors that he fronted Larry Flynt the money to start Hustler magazine and bet with Peter Rose. I don't know if any of this is true and DO NOT wish to accuse him or anyone else of any wrong doing. I'm simply asking if what I heard is true and if so how he came from a family that was a poor country family like mine and became what I have heard that he did. Here it is in a nutshell: how can one man, two men or even three grow up in such poor conditions as he and my family both did and decide to move to Dayton and take over? He didn't have any money or connections that I'm aware of and I'm simply looking for a reason of how he supposedly did this?  (Jan 7, 2013 | post #147)
